Pohx's RF Inquistor build is one of the top performing builds in PoE 3.19 Lake of Kalandra. In today's video I'll be showing you how to craft an RF Helmet for this RF Inquisitor build! It gets a little wonky, but the end result is pretty nice for any RF build you might be playing this league :)

Update: Many people suggested doing old school metacrafting - block armour, slam twice, if you fail, lock suffixes, scour, repeat. I tested this and as expected and as Craft of Exile said, it was terrible. 50 Divines, 50Ex, no Conc Effect. Trust the numbers, not anecdotes. Not a huge sample size, but CoE says it's a 1/55 to slam Conc Effect and I still think my method is best. I have two more RF crafting videos scheduled for next week. fossils is better imo glyphic+faceted+pristine+dense its 1 in7 for burn+conc any tier essence mod is almost a 1in3 (due to 3 gem tagged essences 10x likely) so thats 21 tries on avg maybe better to go 3 socket resonator depends on prices of resonator and fossils.. faceted+glyphic+sanctified is 1in10 so 1 in 30 with correct essence even adds +1 int +1str to the mix, removes pretty much all suffixes so that hitting a third good suffix becomes much more likely and once you have essence + burn+ +1 you have a suffix base thats worth elevating that burn dmg before going for that final ref inf for conc effect and aisling it also thought of using shaper elder base since it has 2 other good influenced mods.. trap and mine dmg to use FT and inc aoe to use RF inside it

*[Some theory crafting for hitting Conc below!]* I crafted two of these without Conc this league, together with a friend. Horror until Burning Damage, Suffix Cannot be changed, Veiled Chaos. One helmet took 4 tries until we got the +2 AoE. Even though CoE says, that with Skellie/Zombie crafted, it's a 43.7% chance to unveil it :c Let's see, if Ex slamming is better for Conc. With full suffixes, the chance slam on any Conc is 4.5% and with crafted life 5.6%. While the chance in the Elder pool is 18.1%. With Ex slam you can only slam twice before you need to do Suffix + Scour. So we have a 10.8% chance per 2 divs vs. 18.1% chance in 4.5 divs. Sooo in the end not that different. Harvest just feels worse, because the Sacred Lifeforce is worth so much up front. (Unless I missed something)

Think you are right on the video, considering its a 1/5 to get conc effect with reforge influence thats 25 divs, and blocking life you get 1/17 to get conc effect on ex slam, and around 1/15 to 1/17 on the second slam depending on what you hit on the first one, so for 2 divines you get 2 chances at about 1/17 witch would make the cost around 17 divs (this is accounting for ilvl 82 base like you said since 83 makes the reforge inf go to 1/6), and sure. with the double slam you then might have to deal with the second dead mod in case you get unlucky but with reforge inf you get the chance to fully brick if your preffixes get full, so metacrafting ends up being cheaper and safer.

I could be wrong, but what you might be missing is crafting with the 4 socket fossil combo Faceted Hollow(unsure if name is correct its the essence mod fossil) and then pristine dense I used to block some mods, I hit the 3 good mods quite often during my mission for perfect suffixes, ended up hitting 16 burning 30%more ele and +1 int gems after I think it was 12 spins which is very lucky as its usually about 40, I also happened to just hit lvl 20 conc effect on the same roll so could go straight for +2 AOE, however like yourself I missed and hit the better life veil and crafted AOE, the fossil combo is likely a lot cheaper for hitting the 3 mods

Just to respond to your pinned comment since it's inaccurate: When slamming Prefixs with an EX (while having armor blocked, and the base type is STR only) you have 1 in 19 chance to hit any tier of Conc effect (You can confirm these numbers with Craft of Exile), so it will cost you 19ex + 19 Divines, not 50 :)

I did it via the vision way and that was to exalt slam until I got any tier of conc effect. Had to do 4 Suff cant be changed->scour when I get 2 prefixes before I got lucky with it.

I know im a bit late to the party, but i just put the mods into craft of exile and let it compute the best selection of fossils. facated, glyphic and sanctified was deemed the most cost efficient combination. i let it simulate 100k tries and it was 1/33 chance to hit all 3 mods of any tier with an avg cost of 17.5 divines.

Yeah CC in my Discord came to me to show me the maths and it definitely looks like fossils are the way to go. I actually saw the odds closer to about 1/16. The fossil method is about 55c an attempt whereas mine is 20c per attempt, but the fossils have the bonus of having a decently high chance of hitting all three suffixes!

but you also could try to elevate this item mods when you get like minion damage or something you dont want and then if its hit the needed suffix go for reforge influence again to get extra power :D

I was kinda hoping my prefixes filled so I could use this trick to attempt to open up a prefix while also elevating :D but elevated burning damage is like 4% increased burning damage so it's not really worth to go for deliberately

i've crafted at least one 25 burning/20conc helmet and it cost me about 40div, getting conc is a pain in the ass. But for just any burning/conc i just spam essences untill i get both, best i've got is after 5 essences, worst is after 200.

Yeah it got to the point where I was thinking I should just do some old school metacrafting, but it's a 1 in 55 to slam T3 Conc Effect which is about 55 Divines worth of metacrafting, not including the Exalts themselves :(

I craft for profit, I made 4 RF helms with just horror til Conc or Burning and Ex Slam til the other one showed up with a stack of annuls. That seemed to be completely fine for me, maybe I got lucky on those crafts but it seemed fairly consistent. Will revisit it again when helms go back up in price and report here

@@Lolcohol the ref inf for the conc is hella expensive, so his method might average out to be cheaper. but what id recommend is 4 socket resonator faceted+glyphic+dense+pristine. not only can you hit those mods 10x more likely, but also just out of the box hit conc+burn+essence without any sufflock/ref influences also it adds +1int and +1str suffix odds (decently high) which both, essentially are +1 for RF (+1 str is +1 for empower) +1 int is straight up +1 for RF

@@giotto_4503 the price per click doesnt matter if you reach your endgoal in less clicks. which method are you referring to? essence exalt annul or to reforge influence? its 1 in 25 essences to hit either of the mods T2. to then exalt annul the second mod is 1 in 33. lets say each time you got 4 mods on your item on average meaning its a 50% chance to fail annul so its 16.5*25 essences + 33 exalts and 16.5 annuls. thats 412 essences for T2/T1 on both with essence mods and a handful of exalts and annuls. with fossils its a 1in3 to hit the essence mod and 1in15 to hit both mods, thats 45 tries. also please keep in mind this was 7months ago. this league we got way cheaper essence prices, essence of horror was easily triple at the time, while rn its only 18/divine, meaning you pay about 22div in essences only not including exalt annuls and if your correct about 150c per its about 30div fossil cost so while essences are way cheaper, price is still similar but yeah rn, maybe essences is the way to go

I'm running pohx RF at the mo. I thought it was more efficient to run RF in chest and use the helmet for mana efficient so you can run the 5 auras for damage? (use helmet for firetrap single target)

Yeah that sounds like it'd work well too! Having that extra reservation on your helmet relieves a lot of pressure from other gear and your tree

Hey Locohol, not sure if this is cheaper but the way I've always done it in the past is: 1) Get suffixes done and wipe prefixes. 2) Craft flat armour to block (life is a bigger pool but I like to leave open the chance of some nice life). 3) Slam 2 exalts. On i82 or i83 (doesn't matter), it's 1 in 18 for the first ex to hit any tier of conc effect. If you fail on both, wipe prefixes and repeat. This one league I did it on a 86 hubris circlet because someone had essence / 20 burning / +1 socketed int gems suffixes. That was pain (took 14 instances of suffixes can't be changed).

Hi, I usually have the same problem as you have. But my starter buld in this league is pohx's RF Jugg. I chosed ritual, expedition, harbi and heist (unusual gem farm) mechanics to make profit. It's a really good way to get rich. I only have a few hours to play POE per days and yes, it still really profitable. If you play with RF, I suggest you to try it! That sadly only works like an Exalt :( it doesn't add an influenced modifier, just a random modifier to an elder item

Minion damage support the gem, not you so the gem will not be affected on the passive skills (minion damage also applies to you). So minion support on this is worthless besides the minion's deal +% increased damage stat (which I'm not sure it is local or not)

So I've been crafting RF helmets for profit a bit earlier in a league and nobody was buying them (and I was undercutting all the time) - not exactly sure why, but it seems demand is unproportionally low comparing to other meta builds - EA bows were selling 3-4x times more and other gear I was crafting too. That's my explanation for low prices - nobody buys them for some reason.

Unfortunately, what you have is as good as it gets if you absolutely must have +2 aoe gems as well (this is probably why you can't find it on league), so you were actually correct to gamble for aisling. However, for profit crafts you can block life and slam twice (obviously, scouring prefixes as needed). Craft of exile simulator says this is about 15 div on average for any tier of conc effect after 100 successes. If you get lucky and hit it on the first exalt, you can then try for the aisling and unveil. Remember for CoE calcs when you're using slams make ABSOLUTELY SURE the slam is set to prefixes/suffixes only. You should see 1 in 21 success rate if you don't block anything, 1 in 17 if you block life by "fracturing" it (force fractures allowed). Unfortunately, there's no easy way to do a proper exact analysis because the first slam (if it fails) also blocks a pretty big chunk of possibilities most of the time, so you have to simulate it.

nope, its weighted towards 4 mods on the item, but you can get 5 or 6 mods as well^^ this is why ppl are complaining about the prefix/suffix reforge being removed - if you hit the 1/10 chance to fill up the item you have to annul and risk your suffixes

That functions similarly to an Exalt. It doesn't add an Elder mod to an Elder item, but just any modifier to an Elder item :)

Like many are saying, I've always just Horror spammed, but it's not fun. RF gets so much power out from gross Helmets and Sceptres that are frustrating to craft (and the build is already starved for pricey uniques). 3.17 was the Golden league for RF, and it's just been a steady slog since.

I think most people under estimate the power of rerolling with chaos orbs Today I crafted a rf helm 20 conc 20 burning 1x ter1 res Life reg Life And still was able to craft +1 aoe gems About 10 chaos rerolls So about 14 chaos plus the price of the armor Should be worth several divs

@@Lolcohol You can however sell almost every decent roll, so your likely not even loosing money and can just repeatedly craft them (even if it's on suboptimal helmets) until you get lucky, there are also sellable rolls for spectre summoners that use elemental minions.

@@Lolcohol The reason people can sell them cheaper than it cost you is because you keep rolling over sellable crafts, if you sell every usable craft the average cost goes way down (though for when you actually hit what you want you may have to run a lot of lab since doing it with enchanted bases is non optimal).
