I've been asked about the viability of the Flame Golem and I wanted to share my answer here so everyone can see it. All three abilities are spells and deal the same type of dmg which makes finding a useful combination of support gems easier. However all of the abilities are broken in their own way: 1) Immolate has terrible range, bad dmg and an 89% less cast speed mod 2) Flame Arc has bad range, mediocre dmg and a 2sec cd 3) Magma Ball has bad dmg and a 6sec cd. Scaling the last 2 abilities to acceptable levels of dmg in an high budget setup requires 500% and 1500% of cd recovery respectively (which is unfeasible) whereas Immolate can't be properly scaled at all. Even if you had access to enough cd recovery to make ability 2&3 work your dps would still drop to nothing everytime the golem uses Immolate. You can make a low investment Elementalist/Necromancer/Ascendant build work for maps and pinnacle bosses but that's as far as I would take it. Tl;dr I currently don't recommend people try out the Flame Golem as main dmg minions.

Interesting. Grabbing Necro and Elementalist really enables this build. Why do you go Deadeye, though? 8% action speed and some mark effect seems weak compared to what other ascendencies bring. Champion gives more DPS from the 15% aura effect alone, and has inc. damage taken on taunt (from any of your hits, i. e. woc or tempest shield), on top of the defensive scaling.

I've compared all ascendancies for dmg and Deadeye outperforms all of them including Champion, even when you taunt the enemy (which isn't a good thing anyway). Did you check your theory using my PoB? Because I've literally no idea what basis you've used to come to your conclusion.

@@sapheryPoE I checked with PoB (or at least tried, to, as I'm not too familiar in using it with minions). Importing the MinMax PoB, just mousing over champion shows Minion: +12.2% hit DPS, which should be more than 8% action speed plus sniper's mark effect. However the Player: full DPS number only shows +6.2%, which I don't understand. When importing the endgame PoB I can't get it to show the minion dps at all.

Doing some napkin math, it seems due to your high total aura effect you get diminishing returns from adding another 15%. This should translate to 2-2.5% more damage per aura, so maybe 7% more damage total. Not sure where the 12% comes from.

@@gehirndoper It should already show the DPS because that's how I configured the PoB. I've reuploaded the PoBs just in case and you should be able to see the DPS right away. If that doesn't help try checking for upgrades pls.

@@sapheryPoE If I remove the other minions from Full DPS, it only shows one DPS number and not a separate "Minion Hit DPS", which makes it clear that Deadeye is best (and it makes yourself faster, too).

Yeah. The main issue is the weapon which cost around 200 div to make but I've made medium and high budget versions that don't utilize a weapon like that. Build guide featuring all versions should drop soon.

The stone, lightning and carrion golem are all viable in 3.21. I've got two build guides for different Carrion Golem builds and will upload a build guide for the Lightning Golem soon.
