Yo! I know this is 2 weeks old but I have a question I’d love answered: Is Soul Mantle/Veil or the atziri shield a good build with this? Or is it better not to run it? Excellent build guide! The PoB has had a ton of work put into it and it shows. I'm not going to be starting with Totems because I'm in SCSSF and I want to start with my Deadeye (that will eventually get converted to my MFer). However, Storm Burst Totems is almost certainly going to be my 2nd character - used for farming the content where the extra tank and totem playstyle make things that much smoother. Our totem savior has spoken \o/! When I saw the update, you were the first person I thought of, it made me really tempted to play storm burst totems once again. Since they're adding new voice lines to ranger and scion, I wanted to go for them, against my desires to go hierophant totems hehe. @@Tatiantel2 Both, your Stormburst and Divine Ire Totem Builds look amazing. I am just not sure how you calculated that Divine Ire of Disintegration deals 66% more damage. Also I am a bit concerned if this new totem will leave a lot of stragglers as it does not damage them during the channeling. We'll need to see. Even the normal Divine Ire should still be fine around 6-7 mil dps. One last question: Is it still worth it for the Divine Ire build variant to take the duration cluster?

If you are playing trade league you can drop the mines and extra buttons. Drop totems and a brand for cursing bosses and inflicting exposure and win.

True its alot of buttons and gets old after a while, but you can drop decoy totem and you only really use sigil and mines at map boss or where you really need a boost for single target. Can't lie though- a rotation of dropping all your totems, infusing storm burst, dropping sigil, dropping decoy totem, pressing wrath divine blessing, activating arcane cloak, and then spamming mines on the boss is alot of steps haha

Am i missing something on the Cruelty support? According to the wiki: "Traps, Mines, and Totems can gain Cruelty; however, because their damage is based on the player, these buffs have no effect. The player will need to have the Cruelty buff from a skill they dealt damage with directly, as well as support the proxy with Cruelty Support to gain the damage bonus for damage over time "

He's using the Cruelty support solely for the More Damage line of the gem, nothing else.

Yes, like Phant0m51 said - Cruelty still gives 24% more damage with hits to totems. But no Cruelty buff (that scales DoT), but we don't do Damage over Time

Thanks for the kind words! About fortify - it will not work sadly, because the amount of Fortification stacks still will be scaled with damage that you deal. And we have Ancestral Bond - so no damage

I prefer picking up bases, once we get to item lvl 77+, because then it can roll T2 Spell Suppression. And the way I craft it in SSF - always just spam essences pretty much. If I have Divine orbs, then we can spam suffix Essences (that give resists for example) until we get T2 Suppression and another decent suffix, then bench-craft "Suffixes cannot be changed", then use Veiled chaos orb, bench-block some useless mod, unveil +mana or +life, and then bench-craft mana or life

Chieftain explosions probably will still not work sadly. The problem is - explosions are "Secondary" damage type, which technically considered as Your damage. So with Ancestral Bond keystone - the explosions will trigger from totems, but likely will do no damage. Unless GGG fixed that part as well (but they didn't mention that in patch notes)

Finally done with this build...took it to about as min/max as I can figure out how to. I couldnt quite reach the numbers shows in the trade leage POB without checking a bunch of unrealistic criteria (4 stages, full charges, everything on consecrated ground, fingers crossed). Not saying the criteria is never met, but it's rare. All in 100k EHP and slightly over 100mil dps (had to go to crit to get this dps though). It melts just about everything other than super juiced wisp maps, and only dies to multiple massive phys hits (think wisp-juiced minotaur). Overall very solid build that let me gradually increase investment to get to min/max. Highly recommend to any one-build-all-league folks. IMO, the downside is that you have to hit a lot of keys, and it takes some real creativity and investment to get to these numbers. You don't have to work this hard to do it on other builds. Edit for end of 3.23 -- I pushed this a bit further and got to 315m dps that rarely dies due to some of the recoup tech + big hit mitigation I worked in. Also got 3 curses worked in that autocast with cast when stunned. This has a been a really fun build. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to try totems.

In the POB you use the Dreamer passive node (inc mana regen, reduced mana cost) instead of Forethought (inc max mana, increased mana cost). Is that a mistake or can you explain why you choose Dreamer? To me Forethought looks like the better pick.

It is on purpose. In this patch we started using Automation support (instead of left-click tech) for Arcane Cloak. As a result, we can't use Mana mastery for "recover 10% of mana when you use a Guard skill" anymore (because triggering is not "use"). That means we need extra mana regen now to make up for mastery loss. Dreamer helps with mana regen nicely. Second, if instead of reducing mana cost we'd take increased mana cost notable, our Divine Blessing Wrath would increase in manacost a lot - from like 1.3k to 2.1k (or something like that). This will make it way worse to cast the aura consistently. Arcane Cloak cost is unaffected by any changes to manacost - it will always consume the same amount of mana. So it's impossible to try to get bigger arcane cloak shield with increases to manacost

Anyone else have damage problems when switching from holy flame to storm burst? My dps is horrendous when switching. I do have 2 unique fire items, the wand that covers in ash and adds fire damage and the level 10 or so necklace with the same effect. My holy flame damage is nice and is carrying me well at level 30, but once I switched to storm burst it takes about 30 seconds to kill a single pack of normal mobs.

I will start this and pivot to ball lightning or Divine ire if they are better. I like that you went with a tanky version(although I had over 200k EHP on boneshatter and was still dying). That was my main concern. You can also use Impossible escape to save some nodes but you won't have evasion mastery. Also if you use rare gloves you can ditch physical to lightning. Creeping frost and Sigil or Wrath with blessing(if it works?) can be put in a wand with trigger skills.

But here we have Decoy totems tanking Rares and Bosses for us, that's a big defensive layer that's impossible to show in pob EHP number. With trigger wand we can automate some spells, not a bad idea

For the min-maxed version, would you recommend double corrupted lightning coil? Or a skin of the lords? They give a lot of survabilty, specially lightning coil for phys mitigation. I'd rather min max tankiness than dps. 11M is plenty for me, I just hate dying. Thank you for the content, I love totems and I use your guides all the time :)

Lightning Coil is a great option indeed, and if you have T1 Suppression on every other piece of gear (gloves, boots, helm , shield), then you can still have 100% Suppression, so it will be real tanky. But I usually don't try to make the char super-super tanky, since most of the time we have tanky Decoy totems taking damage instead of us.

Very nice looking build. Tempted but the keybind requirements seem a bit high for me. May swap to this after I automate flasks though. Always loved stormburst but never figured out a good way to make it work. I guess you wouldn't need all the binds unless it's a tanky boss or essence though to be fair. Edit: started this regardless of buttons, and highly suggest following the gem progression. It builds on the buttons slowly and you can see what you need vs what should be used for bosses/tanky mobs. Way less average buttons than I'd expected.

Decided to league start this after all. I have to say pre-32 I thought I'd made a huge mistake. Not a fan of holy flame totem after level 20ish, but man did it pick up when I swapped to storm burst. I'm loving it and, if you focus on the leveling gem progression, the buttons aren't that rough. I did skip sigil for now (only act 7 due to 14 hour work shifts). It might be worth having an explanation on the gem progression before going into the end game setup so people don't get turned off immediately. So glad I gave this a shot. Thank you for the guide. Hopefully I'll hit maps after work tonight and crawl into blight.

Would you be able to put together a less tanky version for SC trade league? With Soulmantle, etc.? I'm not new to PoE, but I played a Purifying Flame totem this past league and I love the totem playstyle. You mention the Soul Mantle version in the notes in the leveling POB but having that as an optional PoB to switch into for increased damage at the expense of eHP would be great. Sub and like from me! I have a question about mines. what is the timing of all the buffs like, as in you throw a stormblast mine, the mine is not detonated yet, so the stormblast mines and support gems "nearby" buffs are active, then you detonate it, and instantly the buffs go away? if thats how it works wouldn't you want to just apply the buffed shock with 1 SB mine (or just 1 Woc mine for exposure) and then throw a bunch of mines and just leave them without detonating them? or do the mine "corpses" still count for a duration?

Mapping is not as fast as with Freezing Pulse totems, but this build will not skip any Rare mob - everything will die, which feels nice to me. Tankiness is surely higher though - raw EHP with regen makes it feel smooth

Since we have arcane surge support in 4-link what you think about dropping arcane surge ascendancy "arcane blessing" and taking instead sanctuary of thought for better survival? I think getting 20% inc spell damage is easier rolling than what sanctuary of thought provides > 20% max mana as ES + 25% mana res eff + inc area of effect + less mana cost 50%

Arcane Blessing is not 20% increased damage though, it is 42% More damage multiplier (because it scales with Arcane Surge effectiveness). So 42% more damage is too much to give up imo

Aren't we just using the storm last mines for the auras? So we really don't even need to detonate them after getting our charges. So you would leave them undetonated to keep the number applying the auta high. How does stormblast compare to the added for from the new pyroclasm mines?

Yes, exactly - we get 3 frenzy charges from detonating Mines few times, and then just keep throwing for the Auras. I compared with the new Pyroclast Mine - Stormblast is still wayt better with lightning damage

With the new Searing Bond quality together with 30% Ashes, could we get +5 max totems for Searing Bond. If we add that to the Decoy Totem + Multi Totem link, the max should then be +7 for Searing Bond. Would that give us 5 extra totems overall (4 storm burst, 2 decoy and 5 searing bond) for 11 total? The Hiero node would go from 30% more to 55% more, which would be like a 19% more multiplier for 1 socket. I suppose it would add more clunkiness to the build though, having to put the extra totems down and also keeping them alive. Also I could be misunderstanding the totem limit entirely as I'm not too familiar with them, lol.

You calculated everything right. It is indeed great damage for just 1 socket. Could totally be viable to use that in a build. Another 2 smaller issues with that though: 1) all these Searing Bond totems will make bonds to you and all the other totems, which creates a visual mess; 2) there's a chance to overspam Searing Bonds, and delete one or more of your Storm Burst totems, so really have to be careful there. Overspamming never happens with decoy totems, because they have cooldown

Storm Burst are especially good at single target dps, so Essences will be easy to farm. I usually also spec into Harvest - mobs are condensed in one place, so they easily get killed by totems too.

With Algor Mortis being so wonderfully cheap, I assume there are useful corruptions we can use. Maybe things like +1 to Frenzy charges, +2 to socketed Mine gems (would put WOC setup here), Increased Cast Speed, Increased Life, +2 to Socketed Auras (swap Flame Dash with Vitality to have both Auras in the gloves). We can even get 2 of these corrupts really cheap I think.

I haven't really played totems but I'm guessing they aren't the best for Delve. Is that correct? I'm thinking the totems would die too quickly below depth 400 or so

Hi do you know if storm burst totems is better or shock wave totems? They are the 2 main totem builds I see but there's not much information about the differences so I thought I'd ask here in case you would be able to help me. Awesome video too I'm looking for an ssf build that can do sanctum and this looks quite suitable :)

I know that this is a low bar, but I followed Ball Lightning of Static build last league and it easily got me 4/4 stones for the first time in SSF. Starting your Storm Burst or Divine Ire this league to transition into CoC DD or a Mjolner Hiero Archmage later.

It's like there are a lot of buttons Main skill + temporary aura + mines + detonation + movement skill + sigil and on top of everything a decoy

I actualy couldnt find the changes in the pob i checked notes ect , did u simulate automation support ( remove culling strike) in selfcast what did u do lol i took a quick glance but couldnt find it i had no time 😢

Hey! Thanks for the build. I am trying to play the minmaxed version of this but in your gameplay I don't see you running any auras but you have mana reservation? Where does that come from? I also see you have determination and vitality but only looks like you're running one of them as you don't have 0 mana. Any feedback on this?

We don't really cast almost any skills while regular mapping - just Storm Burst totems, Decoys, and then Wrath and Conductivity vs Rares. The other skills are only used vs tougher bosses, and maybe essence monsters

Tati, love your build since I tired it in sanctum league thereinafter. A question is, how does Cruelty work with Stormburst totems? I don't understand the interaction between the Cruelty and Stormbrust. As well as, would it be possible to add into the guide a "How To Craft" section for crafting? Because for some reason I cannot fathom how to craft items unless theres a step by step guide. Sorry for the inconvenienced caused

Cruelty support is just used for its 24% more hit damage; the cruelty buff doesn't matter and isn't used in this build.

Verisi is right - Cruelty is just 24% more damage, it's the best support we can use in this slot. About crafting guides - I might try to do them in the future, at least show the way I craft my gear in SSF

I'm having issues with keybinds with this build. Arcane Cloak LMB Decoy MMB SB Totem RMB Mine Q Dash W Conductivity E Wrath R SB Self Cast T Auras ctrl Q W ...Sigila CTRL E? Sigil being there is so clunky D:

You can re-bind the key-bindings in the options. For me: Sigil is F1, Wrath is "~" for example

Could you recommend how early could one start farming sanctums? Eg. level and dps break point to hit before you can start sanctums?
