[PoE 3.24] Necropolis SSF Buffs and Nerfs Overview

My thoughts on what were the most impactful buffs and nerfs, W's and L's in PoE 3.24 Necropolis.
Note that I spaced out and forgot perfect fossils & 30 quality beast craft existed in the game. So there actually isn't a -7% PDPS nerf. Thanks to the person who pointed that out.

Thank you, excellent summary! I dont entirely agree with "meta not being changed" assessment. We have not seen yet all new item affixes from Necropolis, it might give us similar borrowed power as last few leagues. Tattoos despite being nerfed is huge and will enable new builds. We still have some sleeper op transfigured from last league + we will still get new transfigured gems (I'm excited to see trans KB). Tornado Shot was nerfed to ground so endgame mf is not automatically just TS.

Can't just nerf stuff without giving something more substantial back. QoL is nice, more interesting and fun builds would be better.

There is no excuse to starting bonezone after the nerfs, especially in ssf, when you have no economy pressure.

you dont need to stockpile jun missions anymore because you can just get 100% spawn rate in maps through the atlas. you can still get quality on stuff through fossils before crafting or the beast corruption for 30% after. it is more annoying though, especially sucks for trying to link uniques

The biggest L is that you can't target farm Uber Uber fragments, and there are 7 different ones, and you need 5 of them to get to the fight. That will be extremely painful. And again, don't force yourself into bone shitter in ssf 😊

I am so excited for the 3 atlas trees. Going to try to set up a scarab farming one with Anarchy, Essence and Bestiary to work with new scarab notables for rare/unique monsters. Also I'm kinda hyped for warcry automation, probably going to replace the guard with it on my hexblast sabo lmao

You can get 100% jun with the tree alone, scarabs aren't required

I was really, really looking forward to some melee buffs. I’ve swallowed the pill that bossing on melee will always suck, but looks like we’re still taking haymakers. Think I’m gonna just play soft core and dump all my currency into double strike of momentum to try and break the game then quit the league early

Ctrl+left will not work on stashes as it already has the functionality to ignore affinities. If u want to put an item in a tab that isnt the associated affinity tab u can press ctrl+left and it will be put (if able) into the currently selected tab.

Lots of L that I deem more in the camp of "don't care" personally. Different paths for similar outcomes. New tools available (nerfs *with* compensation, namely scarabs and omens, we can also mention tattoos now that they're core, even if nerfed, the new Atlas and the removal of Wandering Path seems to be a non-issue because of the buffs to what-would-be otherwise, where we basically have wandering path built-in directly which synergises well with the new scarabs - will still need to see the new Atlas but I have no negative views towards this change). Then other things that people have pointed out in the comments, such as stockpiling no longer being needed. The removal of left-click instant skills I don't care much about personally, I think the changes are logical based off of what they said during the Q&A, and the tradeoff seems fair. Overall, this video seems like an overreaction and overly pessimistic because of a *perceived* loss of power, which may end up not being a loss at all. And, considering we're forced into playing the league mechanic, and seeing a little about what's possible with base rewards and new crafting, something tells me it's all gonna be alright.

A common take on the removal of those spicy monster modifiers is: It's going to be in the league mechanic. E.g: "The pack leader drops fully linked items"; "Monsters give X% increased experience"; ...

I think starting jun is still good for unveils and xp, and essences i think is also mandatory for ssf How good betrayal will be in mid league will depend on the drop rate of veiled orb from cata…

Are you planning to release an updated crafting guide for boneshatter given the changes to Veiled chaos? / Will the numlock trick help offset the loss of auto left click?

Hey! Yea most of the info should still be relevant. The main nerf is the call to arms support, so you’ll probably have to run an unset ring to make up for the lost socket. I’ll try to make a video about it tomorrow as well as my league start plans.

Pretty disappointed with the betrayal changes, especially for SSF. I had so much fun learning how to run the mechanic because of how useful it was for gearing up your character by yourself. T4 Aisling, veiled chaos orbs, quality, white sockets, blocking and unveiling mods, such a cool and deep mechanic that was so rewarding for people who liked finding their gear and upgrading their gear by themselves. I don’t know why SSF has to be a “hard mode” and can’t have its own set of balancing changes (like COF). Don’t get me wrong, I will still 100% play and love the new league lol but betrayal was a really fun and rewarding part of SSF and a much needed break from spamming Tujen

Awesome summary, atrocious patch. i hate that with every league i have less and less desire to even log into the game.. played kalandra league almost to the point of burnout, while last league i haven't even made it past lv 90. think im skipping this league completely. i really don't get why they are so stubborn with their "vision" of the game
