@18:55 you don't need to sell a quiver with a bow. Just the bow alone will count the same as a two handed weapon (ex. 2h axe) @21:42 just to expand on chromatic item - this is an item with at least one of each GREEN - BLUE - RED sockets all linked together. This will sell to a vendor for a chromatic orb

3 year old video but still very helpful. Determining what is good is something experienced players take for granted. As someone that started just a couple days ago it is very daunting to know how to use and/or manipulate gear. The when/what/how of gear is a very challenging topic for beginners.

100% agreed. Also played for few days now and feels like i have to spend same time on reddit,youtube and google what ive played this game to learn some tricks and tips.(this game doesnt help new players at all) :D Its kinda overwhelming to come "closer" to "end game" bcs you actually need to start thinking proper gear to pick and manipulate. I just got lvl 60 and im still not sure what base is must have in items what i want craft.(trying to do DD elementalist) xD im not saying i dont have fun while playing but when things go too complicate, some ppl might drop out. Good video and i feel like i actually learned something. :)

I pick up every gold item and sell them unless they have resistances to at least two elements, those ones I sell in the market for 3-5 chomatics. I portal to town 2-3x per map just to sell my gold loot 😂

I usually sell everything I find if it fits. Last night, I found an item not mentioned in the video. Mirror of Kalehandro or something like that. I sold it to the merchant in town and got a scroll fragment. Don't forget to pick those up for easy fragments.

Only reason I would pick up rares is to get into early mapping after that tho only certain ones that are level 86...Astral Plates....Bone Helmets.... Titanium caster shields.or level 86 rares for the base..:S unless I'm wrong

Hi thanks for the guide. It is little bit overwhelming for a new player. As a Newby I want to know just one thing. In D3 you pick up everything and sell it to get gold. What you sa is that here you don't have to pick up anything unless you need it?

In general, the farther you go in the game, the less you tend to pick up. I just hit maps, so I pick up a) any currency, b) any thing of rare value and up, so long as I don't have to tp to town and c) stuff that has an associated vendor recipe, like the chromatic orb recipe or glassblowers bauble

is it actually worth using all your orbs to change links, colors, stats etc on items or is that a bait and should only use them for crafting?

Save them for later gear so you can reroll your links to the skill+ Support skills you need to have. Most require 5 to six links. Mine is a ranger tornado shot build with 3 green, 2 red and 1 blue to make skills really powerful. When starting out in the ancestor League you can usually sell twenty silver coins for 15 chaos orbs...I'd do 10 then you can use those chaos orbs to search the marketplace for gear for your required build. Also put everything material wise in your stash. You'll need them

i'm brand new to poe. I play a bit of D3 and in that game you need pick up everything to salvage for mats. Do i need to do that is this game. i.e pick everything up and vendor it for mats?

No, you only do that at the very beginning (first few acts) with magic and rare items, later on you hide most of the loot with loot filter

Not picking up rares. This kind of blows my mind. Granted I've never been past yellow maps but why would I not want to pick up rares (at least the ones I could potentially use)? I guess I'm just in the wrong mindset. I really want to learn. How do you upgrade? If no one picks up rares, there will be nothing to buy in trade league

"If no one picks up rares, there will be nothing to buy in trade league" If there weren't any rares on trade then you would pick them up but the reality is that there always are cheap rares to buy for a couple chaos that are better than what you can find by ID'ing many many items. It's better to craft or buy items than to identify them. That might change in PoE 2 or when they change how loot works, but currently it's just a waste of time, unless you play SSF. I pick rares up until I get res capped together with bench crafts in the story on a league start and that's it

At league start when i get to blood aqueduct i always farm for a tabula which i use for every build. It takes around 1-4 hours max to do is that worth doing?

In my opinion it's better to start farming maps and buy the tabula from chaos recipe, you'll end up having it around the same time but you'll also have more currency and xp. And in SSF it's worth doing if your build benefits a lot from the 6 link

That's honestly the down side of this game. All the guides are from people that already know everything. This game is so old, its filled with so many random things. It's also very complicated. I'm at act 7 and i still have no idea what i'm doing. Apparently the real game hasn't started until i get "maps'. whatever that means.
