Yeah....this should have started out with a disclaimer about how much time you need to play to even have this as an option. I mean you have to start the league with like 10 hours straight of going hard to even hope to be in a position to do this stuff. Then you have to maintain a crazy pace that isn't compatible with a full-time job that isn't streaming and/or a family/social life. He's saying "just spend 10 minutes on the top 10 streams daily and look at other sources like reddit and poe.ninja." That's 2 hours of research daily. Just.....no.

@gymlin1232 жыл бұрын
Nice video. I'm always trying to bring (profitcrafting) closer to people who are "afraid" of it or new and clueless.... In my opinion, the most important thing and by far biggest misconception regarding profitcrafting is, that you need to know EXACTLY how your final item with all 6 mods will and should look like (of course with variations, but they have to be planned ahead aswell). And that you want to figure out and structure in your head, how to get each mod onto another mod- step by step. This sounds very abstract to people because if you haven't gone through such a process before, you think of it as some insane wizard engeneering crazy strategie... but there are so many small little simple and easy copyable tricks and ways to deterministically craft one mod over another until you have a finished item. Many people will be surprised how easy crafting is in reality (like using the actual materials on an item).... it can be taught to monkeys. The important and "difficult" part is the the theoretical part before and figuring out each step. Edit: I never do exact profitability/cost analyzis beforehand. When the crafting cost are slightly covered by the minimum listed sellprice currently on trade, I'll do it. And 99% of the time with huge profit.

While this is true, I think there's one small overcomplication in it, that is the "look for new builds to emerge" part. Nothing wrong theoretically with it, but people who want to learn crafting are not even close to the level of game knowledge that is needed to prejudge meta-developments. So I would argue the best crafts for profit u could do is stuff that is tried and true and works always. A few examples: Shaper shields with dense fossils for High ES + Recover on hit, Stygian vises with life and res, high phys warstaves for cyclone, vermillion rings with pretty much high anything. Those crafts are far easier from a complexity level to get into as its mostly 1 fossil spamming, do all of them and u play on different markets and you can snowball the wins a lot faster and easier without the danger of falsely judging the next big thing.
@2ndcitysaint522 жыл бұрын
stygian vise are traps dude its the most saturated market in the game, great to craft for yourself but telling ppl to craft them for profit is terrible advice especially this league by week 3-4 theres literally hundreds if not more %life res stygian up they are a massive bait for profit crafting, unless you want to sit there for hours constantly having to undercut 50 ppl
@trackts2 жыл бұрын
@@2ndcitysaint52 A good stygian vise with a handful of t1 mods always sell well. I think it is worth to craft it sporadicaly here and there for extra profit, but probrably not a good idea to craft a bunch of it at the same time.

8:40 this is true not only for crafting. Example, some leagues ago bleed builds using Haemophilia were really popular. The gloves with a decent corrupt were BIS. Regular gloves themselves costed like 1-5c. I started buying them in bulk and just vaaling them. If they bricked or nothing happened? Vendor. If you hit vulnerability? That was a 15 ex+ profit of of one vaal and 1-5c. So, even without crafting a lucky vaal for such builds would bring you immense profits. I made this way around 100 ex just from bulk buying/target farming those gloves and vaaling them.

I have the knowledge to make mid tier crafting items... Tailwind boots, use to do my own explosion chests when that was a thing and so on, but I kinda stopped crafting in Poe (unless I play in SSF, which I do every now and then), the problem is I never enjoyed the process and it's dead time for me, I don't have fun doing it and usually, when I do start crafting for profit I really don't need more money and I ended up sending to standard some 50ex + items that I crafted and quit the league before selling them. Now, tbh, this new atlas and the league kept me playing more than I use to and I still enjoy the game so I decided wth, let's craft something, I want to play the Omni tornado shot build so let's do a spine bow, 750alts average for +2 arrows, 2k alts later I was just looking blankly at the screen wondering why I wasted my time 😄

I love Path of Exile, but the crafting has always annoyed me. It's so impractical and inefficient to craft early on in your progress since you generally don't have great bases or exalts, conqueror orbs, fossils/resonators, high-end essences, etc. You're kinda left with just chaos/alt spam but it's almost unanimously better to just buy an item than to spam. By the time I've built up enough resources to reliably craft, I don't really need to craft. Sure you can turn 50 exalts into 250 exalts, but if I ever have 50 exalts then I'm done with the league. I don't know what the solution is (or if there even should be a solution), but I really wish crafting was more accessible.
@subtractem2 жыл бұрын
It's really about the game knowledge and knowing the demand at the time of the league. For example: you can get very accessible and cheap bases early on and hit them with single fossils (dense on an ES base) or harvest reforges (speed on two-tone boots) to get your base currency up. It's even better these days with Rog crafting the first week or two of a league. Do this a bit and it should get you comfortably to about 10-20ex and you can start crafting lower-mid tier stuff, etc. This is the exact strategy that the master crafters use to go from 0 to 1000ex in the first week of a league. It's all relative to the timing and supply/demand of the economy. It's never impractical, just need to shore up the knowledge to understand what is best when for your means. :)
@TheEternalVortex422 жыл бұрын
Crafting the first couple days is even easier since you can just make basic life (or es)/resist items using essence/harvest/fossils/rog and sell for 20+ chaos.
@bloggersniffle53582 жыл бұрын
@@subtractem Hey man thanks for the detailed response. Unfortunately it usually takes me a couple weeks to reach maps so I don't get to benefit from selling decent/good items. I actually have two tabs full of good items that won't sell even for a few chaos. It takes me somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks to build up enough stuff to craft. There's a really strong correlation between time spent in PoE and currency made. If you want a HH/Mageblood or other high-end gear then you just have to play a shitload of hours or get super lucky. I've settled with the fact that I'll probably never have those items or complete those builds. I just don't have the time to do it. I'll be happy with my 20-30 exalts in most leagues and my single character. It usually gives me 6 weeks of enjoyment per league.
