Don’t understand how he will successfully scam, the exalt stack number doesn’t require mouse over to see?

This is the same principle as spam mail. The goal isn't to scam every person. Not even every tenth person. The goal is to try this with as many people as possible knowing that somewhere out there is someone that's distracted, groggy, sleepy, high or just plain dumb enough to miss the reduced exalt number on the second trade attempt and just hit accept. Same way casinos work - you don't need to win every game, just enough of them to make a profit. Don't need to scam every trader, just one that accepts 1 exalt instead of 8 is enough to walk away with 7 exalts in profit and the ones that don't fall for it cost you nothing.

@@politicsequalsgarbag Yeah, but again similar to other scams that target the lazy or unobservant, it only has to work once every so often for some people to feel it's worth it. Granted, if they had any actual knowledge of the game they'd be making more currency per hour than they could ever scam out of people, but I don't think they have that capacity.

I got scammed like this once at my first season. I sold house of mirrors, it was late night and a lack of experience in poe. I felt like a dumbass xD

I once scammed into a scam, it did just that. But put on another amulet (was selling an amulet) and I quickly accepted the trade

Yeah thats usualy how these scams work , they pretend they put in the wrong amount / item and when you recheck it happens abit too fast and you accept the trade. I have had this happen several times and i feel like an idiot every time :)
