Red Sun comes off the same album as Scream. When I did some research for Red Sun I found out that in South Korea there was a famous hypnotist and he would say "Red Sun" as his catch phrase. So, in SK if you tell someone "Red Sun" they'll think you're trying to hypnotize them. That coupled with the gesture they do while saying it makes it seem like the witches are trying to put you in a trance. For a recommendation I would suggest "Wonderland." It was a bside on the album with "What" and it has a special clip with lyrics. It's a rare sultry Dreamcatcher song. IT'S SOO SMOOTH! ^_^

Whooooa that's so cool! I'm glad you did the research because I would have had no idea. I associate red sun with a warning for sailors and had no idea about the common cultural context. Very cool!

Red Sun was choreographed solely by their main dancer Sua (the center at 2:54). She's choreographed a lot of their (and her own) dance covers but this was her first time doing it on a group song. She's so talented

I love how the choreography (thank you SuA) and the lyrics go together. While I obviously miss Handong, there is something unique about the energy and chemistry of this 6 member version of Dreamcatcher.

dreamcatcher \:D/ yes the lyrics can be read as witches casting a spell on you, but I'll give you another perspective in the context of their discography. as I'm probably mentioned before, several of their core themes are recurring within their discography and there are several other songs in the same vein as red sun, about being trapped in a maze, etc... it's just a metaphor for losing sight of your dreams due to pressures/hardships in life, being stuck in a rut, etc... in a sense life is casting a spell on you, corrupting your mind and making you lose sight of your goals. so while most might read it as them casting a spell on you, you can also interpret as them signaling you to wake up. if you had nightmares but you always had a cue that makes you realize it's a dream and you need to wake up, well in essence that's the message.

Hot take, this song is taking shots at the CCP (who literally called themselves Red Sun, and it means hypnosis in Korean). Did you notice the green lamp in the center of the entire video? Or were you sufficiently hypnotized to ignore it? ;p I had to Google it, it's called a bankers lamp. Take from that what you will lol.
