Thanks again for your reactions to IU's music. IU is one of kind, her Lyrics are most of the time deep, specially when it comes to the more serious songs. But now you can find deep thoughts even in silly fun songs. The idea of wanting to be flower during her childhood, but now realizing you may be whatever you dream to be even a Dandelion seed and be happy about it, and that's kind of the album theme as it seems to be in shopper too. There's also the happy sweet potato story which is also related to this message in short, there's a red ginseng in the middle of the field and she's so happy to be a red ginseng plant, but then other red ginsengs start to point out at here and then say but you are a sweet potato not a red ginseng, really! says the little plant, then I'm a happy sweet potato plant. To me it's a sweet and telling story, the little plant was happy no matter what other see in her. You can easily find IU telling that story in YT.

Hope you do a reaction to IU 'Shopper' MV together with the 'Shopper' concert live clip which is amazing! Here is IU's intro to Holssi which provides a little more context: "The first album I produced myself in my 20s, 'CHAT' In 'SHIRE', I compared my age to a flower. Whether it's a colorful flower or a small flower. At that time, I believed that I was a flower that would bloom when the time came. I, in my 30s, who realized that there is no reason or need for everyone in the world to become a flower, wants to live as a seed fluttering alone in the sky. Like a tireless shopper, I want to wander aimlessly, scrolling through the various options displayed all over my world and putting them in my cart."

Thank you for reacting to IU, I always look forward to your IU reactions. Holssi is part 1 of a 2 parter telling us about her decision to conquer to areas. IU had considered retiring from Music leading upto her Golden Hour Concert. She even mentions this during her concert, saying she never expected to be performing on a stage this big in front of this many people. But getting ready for the concert she realized that she was suffering some burn out but got re energized. She also said during that concert that she thought the concert might be crowning achievement of her career and that she had thought their was nothing else for her to achieve. But then she stated that the concert might just be the start of something new. NOTE: kpop soloist have never really looked beyond the Korean and Asian markets. The only kpop soloist who have achieved any thing close to success have been a few who were members of groups who had been successful as part of a group in the US and therefore had built up a fan based. But the vast majority of them have had only relatively short term success in the States due most to their split attention. So in Holssi IU is telling us she is going to become a single seed (a kpop soloist) who is going to takeca different path (conquer the Western concert/music market in particular the US). It is interesting to note that both Holssi and Shopper were filmed in the US, making her intention crystal clear. She is going to take root on smooth ground (she is going to take the easy route) she knows it will be difficult but she will not complain, and she is going for the win. Even with the k-wave in music and drama's over coming the language barrier is extremely difficult, as IU has already experienced back in 2014 when she came to LA for the Kpop Convention. She said in an interview that she was frustrated because her English was limited and it was very difficult to communicate with her fans. She stated she would learn English before returning and she hired a English teacher. So Holssi IU tells us about her decision and that she is going for it big time. The line she says that she will even say goodbye sounds to much like her complaint in Eight when she says people just come and go as they please without even saying goodbye, to be a mere coincidence. While it's certainly is not a suggestion of anything gloomy here, in order to achieve success however, it will mean she will have to spend more time away from Korea and her Asian fans. Tweety bird is also a metaphor of IU's current and past career. Always returning to the safety of his cage, even when he leaves it to escape from Sylvester. The title Holssi at the start of the MV is a tribute to Tweety, as is the line about following the tiny leader. The Shopping cart is a direct reference to Shopper, as is the single dancer dressed in Blue. In Shopper (don't worry no spoilers) IU is standing outside a theater and their are Dandylion seeds floating around her, after which they are replaced by confetti. In Holssi she is going for the win and in Shopper she declaring Victory. I will pro ife more on Shopper if orcwhen you react to it. NOTE: IU's channel has released live concert clips of both Love Wins All and Shopper.

My favorite reaction to this song the guy exclaimed 'OMG, she's killing the children!' The irony at the end was the IU balloon seems stuck on the power lines.

The song is reffering to how she is no longer going to limit herself to S.Korea, but she is actually officially going to explore the western market, hence her first world tour..
