An admittedly attractive blonde girl in my college creative writing class wrote a poem that was about sailing, and the words she used were technical seafaring jargon, and even though I didn't understand it at the time, I remember being in awe with the imagery. I've never forgotten my reaction and I wish I had a copy of it stashed away somewhere but I doubt I do. I eventually took sailing lessons myself and I still remember her reading it out loud at the table ☺️ Strange memory.

My buddy and I played Free Bird for an English class assignment our senior year. Everyone had to sing something. He played guitar and we both sang. We were so high from smoking weed and taking Valium that we forgot the lyrics and made them up as we went. The teacher not being familiar with the song, wasn’t the wiser. God I miss being a teenager sometimes. We are 44 years old now and still play music and our kids play as well. Mine is grown and in the army. Man how the years fly by.
