In the exam, would it be way too meta to mention that Rosetti is the only female poet in the anthology, thus acting as a microcosm of Victorian literature, where women were overshadowed by men?

No - that would be a great interpretation of the implied power dynamics within the poetic literary canon! Well done! With an analytical voice like this you are sure to succeed! :)

Hey, thank you for making your videos: they have been wonderful to help with my revision! Would it be possible for you to do a video on comparing A Room With A View and the pre-1900s poetry anthology please? Maybe on thematic ideas, how to structure the essay or maybe even how looking at a model essay and scrutinising what’s good about it. :-)

Hi, I just had a question about the AQA A level Love Through The Ages Paper 1 exam which is, you get to choose two poems to compare with The Great Gatsby so could it be okay to concisely learn and understand a few poems (not all poems) and then just use the ones you have revised to compare with The Great Gatsby? I understand that this may not be the best since all poems should be known so that any of them can be applied to the question however wouldn’t it be more effective to just learn a few that you have analysed in depth and can compare with confidence to The Great Gatsby?

That is one strategic approach. Would you like a video breaking down the options?

Please could you make a video or a few that give perceptive links between the poetry and The Great Gatsby. We have explored both in class and annotated the poems in detail but it would be great to have some direct links that I can easily use and identify in the exams. Thank you. Very helpful videos

Will do my utmost to do this...is it better for me to be thematic or analyse each poem and share Gatsby links?
@lornaharris15835 жыл бұрын
@@MissHannaLovesGrammar thank you for replying! Perhaps as you have already analysed the poems it would be really useful to share the links that emerge between the poem and Gatsby. As the exam question will be based upon theme, characterizing the poems and linking to Gatsby by theme would be amazing. So a bit of both really
