I am reopening Ultraviolet with this sessions. Or I can even say just "opening", because I didn't like it's sound - too pop, too ordinary, without power and depth of there usual instrumental and rock sound. But this version does not sound like a pop song, it's full of incredible sadness and sorrow. Can't stop listening, and I almost didn't remember it from the album.

This is truly transformative! I love the original version, but it has such a frenetic energy and house/dance vibe that I couldn't imagine how it would be adapted for an acoustic performance. This version turns it into a totally new song with a completely different energy, and it's so unbelievably gorgeous! Captain's piano is haunting, and Marko's vocals are - as always - like soft moonlit velvet. This gave me chills of the absolute best kind. 💜💜💜

How do you do that? Every single time, you surpass yourselves... Angel is an incredible song in its original form, but now it is perfect! No, it is above perfection! The piano, majestic, brings an intimate feel to the song, and Marko, sir, your voice accompanied only by the piano became "angel" like (pun intended) - more than usual I mean. I love the imagery of Angel, I've always said so, but you guys gave it a whole new dimension for which no word exists that could actually do it justice. Magical

Markus Captain Kaarlonen must be a sound magician! The sound on theese Alexander Theatre Sessions recordings are just jaw-dropping! And I listen on a pair of old low quality Qln speakers. But it sounds so crisp and clear, every little detail. It's like I was next to the stage listening live. 10/10

Well, and clearly the video and audio are not done at the same time. I'd love to know if the audio is done there on stage or elsewhere (my guess is elsewhere) but it's pretty obvious in this one that Marko is just lip syncing.

@@clayman1980 Watch Marko's lips, he clearly is lip syncing. 2:42 ish. Yes, the setting is beautiful, why not film there? Would not be as artful filming in a studio. I had wondered if he was lip syncing all of these... there's just something about seeing someone actually sing versus seeing them lip sync. It can be a subtle difference sometimes... some ppl are very good at the illusion. And with Marko, it's often hard to tell. In the end, it doesn't particularly matter where the audio has been captured. Perhaps some of the filming is done after the audio is done to get better shots. We'll likely never know.

You guys never fail to highlight an already beautiful song in a way, that it ends up so heart-wrenching and full of emotions, that it feels like your heart wants to explode. The atmosphere created by the piano, the voice - so simple, yet so unique and powerful, the empty Theatre in the background that gives even more chills with the lyrics somehow, paints a picture so colorful and clear that I could almost see "the Angel dance up on the balcony". Definitely my favorite version of the Alexander Sessions so far. Very, very curious if you can top this one after all. But somehow the Angel on my shoulder has no doubt you will ;-)
