Wow, whoever mixed all these Genelec sessions deserves a round of applause. I have never heard such a great mix, drums & base so punchy. Best live sound I have ever heard from any artist.

I would have boosted Marko's mic; vocals need to be louder.
@tonisalama1371 Жыл бұрын
@@TimTheTuner I totally disagree. The mix has a great feel of loudness of a live performance and wall of sound. Raising the vocals on top of everything else would make the mix sound just mundane and boring.

"Daze" Rolling down the free way, master to the speed of light, Screaming up in the air, bursting through the night No rest, I've stayed here too long, It's time to move on Reality's a three way, a scenery defined By tomorrow dubbed a mystery and the past just blurry lines If there's ever been injustice in my name, I bow unto blame And you can give me everything I need this way We'll be loving till the first light of the day Set the world on fire with bitter sweet desire To chase away the night, let the whole world burn Set the world on fire for bliss in sweet denial, oblivion and peace Will you let me burn? Drifting like a cast off, the shadows got it good With constant companions, would that I could Further afield my nemesis on stilts is gaining on me So I crawl across the state line, to another state of being Holding on for dear life to the better days I've seen Long for the comfort of your loving arms, your passions, your charms And you can give me everything I need this way We'll be loving till the first light of the day Set the world on fire with bitter sweet desire To chase away the night, let the whole world burn Set the world on fire for bliss in sweet denial, oblivion and peace Will you let me burn? Did you ever feel your love eclipsing the sun I give you the reason I'm still on the run Disappear in the heavy glare of neon And you can give me everything I need this way We'll be loving till the first light of the day Set the world on fire with bitter sweet desire To chase away the night, let the whole world burn Set the world on fire for bliss in sweet denial, oblivion and peace Will you let me burn! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

OMG Finally a live performance of Daze with the singing in tune XD. No idea why but every other time it's been a bit.... 'off'. That guitar effect at 4:17 also works so well :D
@LocalMachine8 жыл бұрын
chiffmonkey also yes most live version are a bit off because that falsetto is insanely hard to hit spot on without studio magic. Don't get me wrong, Marko's singing is top notch. These studio live sessions take the absolute best takes out of many, many takes, then studio edited/post fx & synced.
@chiffmonkey8 жыл бұрын
Nah not implying anything like that, just an observation from someone annoyed by dissonance :P
@LocalMachine8 жыл бұрын
@myshalafi171 heck no, there's no question Marko hits the notes. It's take after take, then the best takes are selected, then edited, post effects, synced, etc. The falsetto is doubled, reverbed/delayed, etc. Normal stuff.
@whitefantom8 жыл бұрын
In some performances of Daze, Marko tends to sharp some of the falsetto notes (particularly the high notes at the beginning of each line of the chorus). The funny thing is, even I (as a female with absolutely no problem reaching those higher notes) often do exactly the same thing when I sing Daze. :-P There's something about the power and excitement in the song that creates a tendency to try to sing the chorus with a lot of force and enthusiasm, and if you try to hit those high notes while pushing too much air out at once (because you're just really into the song :-) ), that can cause the notes to sharp slightly. I know that's what happens to me, anyway, and I'm pretty sure that's what happens to Marko. I have to concentrate on not "oversinging" the chorus in order to keep the nigh notes from going sharp unintentionally. I also can't reach the lowest notes in Daze (a problem I have several Poets songs, even though I'm an alto/mezzo soprano, so my voice is lower than some other female singers). Marko's range makes it impossible for me to sing many of their songs in the original key, so with Daze (and Cradled in Love, too), I have to raise the key by a step and a half in order to be able to even *barely* reach the lowest notes while still being able to hit the high notes. Damn you Marko and your amazing voice! :-P
@LocalMachine7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely spot on. You can't force falsetto, but it takes so much practice to not force it due to enthusiasm.
