@@MichaelPohoreski I'm using the Brass Dome. 5% max res from the Brass Dome + 95% increased effect Ruby Flask + a Mageblood = 90% max res without Purity of Fire or any +max res jewels or +max res passive skill nodes. And I have 6k life. You don't really need any more life, because Svalinn, immunity to crits and 90% res and 90% phys damage reduction makes the build basically immortal, it's much better than other options.

The Svalinn variant is so nice for delving! I hadn't played Chieftain RF before, just the good old Juggernaut during Sentinel league and was already really happy with it. The one thing I didn't like about RF was using Fire Trap for single target. Next league start, I'll probably try going hard into ritual right away to get the penance ring while also hopefully getting omens of jeweller/connections. Should be a pretty fun way to start the league, especially since ritual may also give some fractured or synth bases for the next character.

My issue is the difficulty on bossing and needing carries for Maven if you want to get it done early. Then there's the many mods it doesn't run well, -max res and regen come to mind... That said, I'm doing an Ultimatum RF with DD of ravaging and it's fun chill gameplay as a second character where 50d put everything together.. just can't trust the league start RF anymore.

I'm playing my first PoE league ever. I've been following your 'block based' guide. I'm up to t16's but I'm feeling like I'm hitting my gear cap. I just got a svalinn to drop. I'm concerned about swapping to it, because I'm poor and might not be able to get the gear to make it work. I only have about 5d. Going to try and do poor man's version this weekend. Thank you so much for the guides. I know PoE is an older game but I've been having a blast. Even bought the $90 support to load up on tabs, not something I'd normally do for f2p.

Assert dominance does have a weakness, and it's a sneaky one. It's easy to forget about less effect of curses ever since they removed it as an inherent property of bosses, but if you are in a map or other area that has it as an area modifier, it can become impossible for penance mark to sustain Assert Dominance, because you will at max make 1 phantasm per second with enough less effect of curses.

So I just switched to this shield last night after playing a fourth vow RF Juggernaut with Hinekora flesh/flame. This is such a game changer. It's like a completely different game. I am fighting double or triple ghosted t17 bosses with Titanic scarabs and just basically face tanking them. Crazy.

I wish the explosions would be 25% to do 100% of the corpses health. Sometimes I feel like it never happens. Maybe even have a 100% chance to cause the monster to explode for 200%, but has a 5 sec internal cd.

I noticed you managed to find a few Cloak of Flames and also the Lightning Coil. How did you end up farming for these. You were using the lvl18 character in the last video. Was this effective? Our SC RF: lack of damage, not so tanky, slow. Pohx's SSF RF: "Nothing Fancy" but chilling run in juicy T17, kill mobs easily and smooth like butter

Same here....I really like RF but it is dealing so underwhelming for some reason. In my case, I have not yet got the 5 endurance charges, but I feel like it won't even matter. The solution I have been finding is that I just spam Fire Trap Instead lool and use RF as a kiting tool by making the mobs run after me....which feels bad because one would expect RF to be the main skill of the show

That feels so expensive, I spent maybe 5 divine on my build so far and t16 are a breeze so I'm just running those right now. I'm still unsure how spending 30 chaos per map is netting me a profit but my wealth of exile keeps saying my weath is going up even though I don't feel like I'm making much from my runs

@@michaelduha ye. T16s are good unless there is some bad mod like lowmaxres, or low regen. Even with close replication of pohxs build iam weaker. Max i pushed up was 400k rf without boosters tops at theoretical ppb 2.5mil with everything accounted. Now iam at 230k switched to stunbased instead of blockbased

I am playing around things to help with Punishment and honestly, using Hex Bloom is funny as it spread the curse along side the ignite. Since you spread ignite even more here, it might be a nice option for your helmet (Punishment, Lifetap, Hex Bloom and a 4th one). Also, could you use rune crafting to add ignite chance on your weapon? Since I do not enjoy that much FT, I might give this variant a try in trade and see how it feel for sure :)

@@ulruc I didnt quite catch this in the video, but wdym helping punishment? Also hex bloom is very underrated. I use it every single league on my dot builds, I have bane +punishment+frostbite (in my case) +hex bloom as a 4L. I cast bane once and the whole screen is cursed. Pretty satisfying and you dont have to curse each pack, the curse transfers as you beat the first pack and repeat.

Since I di not enjoy Blood Rage or even Enduring Cry (this is me talking), I had a few free sockets. So I tied Punishment to Hex Bloom and now, as my ignite spread, my punishment also does as well. So things takes damage ven further away.

phox i really am having a problem with penance ring i want u to explain to me if you dont mind i am using it and it is spawning minions and they do pop but sometiems if not all the time the pop dont reach the bosses i have to try to get the boss closer to minions before they pop its really difficulty for bosses that dont move much in the map does having more aoe in ur tree affect it because i tried and i toke all aoe nodes in tree but my RF was so big but i felt the the aoe did not affect the pop like this is my only problem i am as tanky as u can ever be but bosses are my problem as the pops dont reach them

I got like 140 aoe. 70% from clusters. Use awakened inc aoe on rf instead of efficacy.

area damage is like increased fire damage but only works for AoE's | RF AoE is important so I don't have to run around killing the phantasms, I can just sit still and kill them all with rf

@@PohxKappa hey pohx i wanted to ask for your expert information if you dont mind I now have almost double your AOE in regards of the pop but i still feel it sometimes dont reach the boss if not at all and i know its only a 5% chance to pop in the first place but once that pop happens i dont see it reach the boss i tested it on many bosses such as seer and the elder and all others would you mind taking a look at my current pob in regards of AOE and tell me what do you think the problem is ? maybe the pop is bugged ------ ( it does hit the bosses sometimes )------( other wise in normal mapping if the map boss has any mobs beside him such as strand they'd die instantly from pop so i know it works) just that the bosses u use penance mark on spawns the mobs a bit far from him so when they pop they dont reach ----only if they spawn closer to the boss ( pobb.in/cCfm5hjSQsWp ) this pob is with more medium clusters ..... am just testing it now and i still didnt see a diffrence of my main pob that has 2 less medium clusters. for now its what am using so i have a total of 3 medium clusters and 1 large cluster edited here hey phox i just wanted to put an updated pob as i toke a look at penance mark and realized that it spawns mobs from 3.5 to 4.5 meters away from boss while in my pob i had 4.2 meters range for my pop ( thats why i felt it sometimes didnt reach when it poped ) so i did an update and fixed the issue with getting a unique body armour and another jewel ( pobb.in/i-VRVhGqP1fe ) i will leave this pob here incase you looked at this comment and for any1 els who would like to take a look at it ....

Flammability and WoC are useless if you're a RF Chieftain because enemies always have -20% fire resist, it's a fixed value that can't be changed (and it's not like there are better ascendency nodes to take for the build). On non-Chieftain RF builds it'd make sense though.

I don't understand how you do single target dps. Penance Mark spawns a few phantasms half a screen away from the target, you're supposed to hope the 5% chance to explode procs, hits and ignites the target? That's such a small chance for all the stars to align. And you have to be hit first for Svalinn/Tempest Shield to retaliate and hit the enemy to spawn phantasms in the first place. I've tried this and it's sooooooooo inconsistent and slow. Also, I don't understand how Punishment (and any other curse) is useful with Penance Mark. Mark is a curse, and you can only apply one curse without allocating Whispers of Doom. Then what's the point of Punishment if the Penance Mark is supposed to be better? You don't even need any curses for screen clear, everything explodes anyway, the problem is only single target damage against bosses, and you're supposed to use the Penance Mark against them, so Punishment is completely useless?

@@garymartens9151 yeah, I used it for a day and went back to the fire trap. Spawning the penance mark phantasms, hoping they proc the 5% chance to explode, being in range to hit and igniting the bosses that are constantly moving is the clumsiest build I've played in PoE. Rather do less but consistent damage with fire trap than hope for the 5% explode RNG, so annoying. Not to mention the Hateful Accuser is a waste of a precious ring slot when you can get a life + dot multi + inc aoe + whatever-else-you-want ring.

Not really, unless you want to go against ubers If I understand correctly, idea is that in t17 and ubers you need some way to reduce damage from really strong attacks Normal shield can get you as far as 75% chance to block But Svalinn and a little bit of passive mixup can get you to 65% with lucky roll, which basically means that each time you get hit you roll 65% chance to block twice, which equals around 87.77 chance to block

As always the answer is it depends. You can always trade defences for damage. But in general a mirror is plenty enough for a all ubers down, map farmer, easily.

@@stinger15au I asked for a specific number...or at least an estimation. I already know you can clear all content with a mirror... my builds always clear all content with 100 divs or less. I just wanted to know how much dmg on average would someone have with a min maxed mirror RF build (also min maxed builds tend to be very similar, there is no "it depends" a lot of times) Tried searching up on ninja for dps, but ppl there are not finishing the build. Only memory I have about min max rf is in scourge league where every single player was rocking rf and making disgusting helms.
