Give the sensor an extra coat of paint. Especially the sides of the pcb. Then they last longer.

@@robotsanddinosaurs I have found that due to leakage between the paint coat. The sensor then started to oxidize and no longer work. I have also worked with the DC senor but replaced the pcb with the two pins with two stainless steel pins of 6 mm thick. They were left and right in the flowerpot to the bottom. They were 4 cm above the earth. You set the minimum moisture value in dry sand. Good luck.
