I have had the good fortune to visit Point Conception and document through my photography and videography what remains of the lighthouse station over the years. On my last visit my good friend Matt McIntosh captured some great drone footage with the DJI Mavic 3 Cine.
The "Cape" has had many names over the centuries. Mariners know it as the “Cape Horn of the Pacific” dating back to the 19th Century due to the strong winds and currents encountered rounding the cape, and in the summer, months often shrouded in fog resulting in many shipwrecks. The region is known as the shipwreck graveyard of the central coast of California.
I sure hope you all enjoyed visiting Point Conception the "Cape Horn of the Pacific” learning about the U.S. Coast Survey’s work to establish at lighthouse at the cape and learned about the tales of two lighthouses, take a modern-day tour of the second remaining lighthouse and introducing you to the Fresnel lens exhibit at the Santa Barbar Maritime Museum, I hope you go check it out in person.

Well done, thank you for this. I lived in Lompoc for 18 years and worked at Vandenberg, but was never able to get permission to get to the lighthouse and photograph it. This is as close as I've gotten so I appreciate you.
