My two biggest catches have been at Point Lonsdale. And my friend that i usually fish with has gotten a lot of nice fish here during winter. Once, he caught a 1.5kg snapper and i caught a 1kg leather jacket, and it was on the same day. Large schools of salmon often swim by here during winter and when they do, it's a frenzy.

good vid mate. better off going queenscliff harbour though for big trevally and snapper/pinkies which are extraordinary fun on light tackle and taste great. also get kgw's and heaps of wrasse and leather jackets. yesterday for example got 4 trevs (35cm+) in 4 casts but unfortunately a seal come through and ruined it after seal it was just erase after wrasse

Love your uploads and have purchased your fishing goods. Due to Melbourne covid have had little chance to explore your techniques. Do you burley the cage/sinker on piers or just throw the burley out.
@howtofish50513 жыл бұрын
thanks. I use the berley cages on piers as well as throwing pellets in. The berley pellets attract the fish into the area and the berley cage delivers berley next to your bait so the fish zero in and get hooked.

Hi, I like the taste of parrot fish. They have a light, soft flesh and are good eating, in my opinion.

Do you know any trout fishing areas near Melbourne Victoria?
@howtofish50513 жыл бұрын
Hi, most of the good trout fishing spots are not close to Melbourne. The Upper Yarra, Eildon, The goulburn, are all some distance. I've found the best bet is to fish the stocked lakes at the start of the school holidays when the fish are first put in.
