Great footage of powerstation. I'm also enjoying just filming. Loving it now. Sad about homeless. My kids 22 & 24 cannot buy or rent a house. This was known years ago that house prices and rentals will keep rising, past and present politicians have done nothing about it. We need to stop immigration for minimum 10 years. Other countries don't bring in immigrants. Eg, Japan.

Cheers for the comments and watching , something needs to be done seeing family's sleeping rough not by choice is a shame , don't know how they get kids off to school and go to work leaving your possessions on the side of the road literally

Cheers Les loving the photography side , I was amazed and saddened it's hard when that's not the life style you choose

So true Peter . But I myself in different circumstances could not see myself living in a house any time soon. 2 weeks ago I was in Xantippe . Finally. I’m loving this life. 🇦🇺👍

Thanks again for the great video Peter, nice pics of Pt Peron. All very familiar, I work in Rockingham. We used to be able to drive on that horse beach. Was the closest beach we could drive on in the metro area.

Glad you enjoyed it , I was told access will soon be lost to this area which is a shame .

Checking out our back yard eh? :) Hopefully we don't become a second Mandurah LOL On a serious note, homelessness here is terrible. Dorothy works a couple of days a week at the local Salvation Army centre and the number of people sleeping rough is increasing dramatically. Last winter at least one lady was found passed away in a tent while sleeping rough. The government isn't doing nearly enough to help people in real need. The RSL park was all ripped out a few years ago - another total disgrace.

I feel it is a combination of problems at the same time , it all started going down the hill with Covid

I make sure I'm 20km minimum from a town or point of public interest to hold up with my van . So far 8 months undisturbed. I remember Rockingham in early 70S . WOW. too much progress , too many ppl.👍🇦🇺🦘

This track is pretty strong (maybe watch on mute), but the American band Fear Factory filmed the video for their song 'Cyberwaste' at the old power station during their 2004 tour. A slightly odd claim to fame. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ25aqVjj7xmnq8

I don't begrudge anyone from having to sleep where they have to, but these places are going to be closed off to the public because of the garbage left behind, anti social behavior that will come from these "stealth" campers, just look at South Mole and the reason why that is closed, a good fishing spot that I can no longer go to because of the actions of a few scumbags. You may view things differently, I don't.
@peterhewitson719 ай бұрын
I have seen so many areas closed due to a few , a shame the monitoring was not more stringet then the few may rethink what they are doing and not spoil it for the many as for those that are there due to lack of affordable housing I think there is no quick fix

It is a bummer people have to live like this but there is no excuse for leaving a mess cleaning up is free

I'm more concerned about the gov taking all our land by stealth....not people who were put in this position by the gov as I was at the tender age of 64 no fault of mine... your comment is very insulting to the ppl just doing the best they can ,you awful insensitive have a nice day in the comfort of your dwelling place 😡😡😡😠😠😠😠
