Not exactly - if you multiply by a number less than one, e.g. 0.5, it would decrease

What happened at the end was the gravity got so high that I got a integer overflow which turned the number into a negative number and there was a negative gravity. So link was floating up. When you pull out your glider it also changes gravity to be lighter which caused it to be even more negative causing link to rock it into the sky which we only saw for one frame.
