Excellent as always. I love Hercule Poirot. Thank you ❤

These BBC Radio versions are way shorter than unabridged recorded-book versions of the original novels, but they get the gist of the books quite well. Agatha Christie’s writing seems to adapt really well to this treatment. Some of the other Queens of Crime, like Sayers and Marsh and to a degree Allingham, would I think lose too much of the detailed charm of their books to make adaptations as worthwhile. Peter Davison was perfectly cast as Allingham’s star character Albert Campion, yet I f found the television adaptations a bit disappointing despite some obvious efforts to make them excellent, right down to buying a genuine Lagonda car (later resold at no loss).

I somehow prefer Moffat even at an audio level, to Suchet at the TV level.

Oddly, I prefer Hugh Fraser to David Suchet on audio!

@hannahreynolds7611 Totally! The ONLY Piorot is Suchet on film. Don't get me started on Kenneth Brannagh! But Hugh Fraser does a wider range of voices, including women. And his Japp is perfect.

@@sandieking9007Suchet has played Japp on television too… Peter Ustinov loved Poirot but was completely wrong. His enthusiasm sort of sweeps one along, but you almost have to think of his Poirot as a different character.
