☕ Black Coffee: Poirot Solves a Perfectly Brewed Murder Mystery 🕵️‍♂️
📚 Original Title: Black Coffee
✍️ Author: Agatha Christie
🗓️ Published in: 1930
🎥 Welcome to the Classic Mystery Stories Channel!
Important Note: This is a summary, not a full audiobook. If you love Agatha Christie’s storytelling, we always recommend reading the original novel for the full experience.
⚠️ Attention! ⚠️ This summary is based on the adaptation of the original stage play Black Coffee, written by Agatha Christie, into a novel by Charles Osborne. 📖 While the plot and characters remain true to the Queen of Crime 👑, the narrative style and structure were adapted by Osborne into a book format, which may differ from Christie’s original novels.
With themes of jealousy, revenge, and hidden secrets, this story exemplifies Christie’s genius in creating twists and turns that keep readers guessing until the final revelation.
⚠️ Contains spoilers ⚠️
Our summaries remain faithful to the original work and reflect the cultural and historical context of the time. Revisiting these stories honours the legacy of Agatha Christie and her timeless mysteries.
📚 Nothing replaces a good read! While we provide detailed and engaging summaries, the depth and nuances of the story can only be fully appreciated by reading the book.

I waited for many years to be able to purchase a copy of "Black Coffee" which was originally written by Mrs Christie as a stage play. At last, the long awaited book arrived. I read the glowing comments on the back cover, which made me hopeful regarding the contents: the play having been rewritten into a novel by an author unknown to me. Alas, this reading appears to be of that book, which is a dreadful insult to Mrs Christie. It is more a synopsis of the tale, however lengthy and nicely written, than anything like Mrs Christie's deathless tales. Agatha Christie painted word pictures: of the geography, the buildings, their interiors and the characters themselves with great detail. There is none here. As a play - which is almost entirely dependent upon dialog - one can reasonably assume Mrs Christie wrote pages of it. Once again, that particular writing device is ENTIRELY absent here. One is told what each character said. There are no quotations to be found. I am disappointed a second time. I fear Mrs Christie is whirling Dervishly in her grave.

@marcialandakanebeaulieu9229, I appreciate your detailed comment and understand your disappointment. However, this channel is dedicated to summaries, not full readings or verbatim adaptations. The purpose is to provide a condensed yet engaging retelling of Agatha Christie’s works for those who want to revisit the stories or get an overview before reading the full book. Regarding Black Coffee, the novelization was done by Charles Osborne, not Agatha Christie herself, and as you pointed out, it differs from her original writing style. My summary aims to capture the essence of the story, but naturally, it does not replicate Christie’s prose in full detail. I respect your love for her work and appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts. If you’re looking for a full, immersive reading experience, the original books remain the best option. Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy other content on the channel.

This sounds like CliffsNotes, not something an accomplished writer could have penned.

Hello! This is a summary, not a novelization, and the goal is to provide an engaging overview of the story while encouraging readers to explore Agatha Christie’s original works. Our intent is not to replace the depth and detail of the full novel but to highlight key elements of the mystery. Nothing compares to reading the original book, and we always recommend diving into Christie’s brilliant storytelling firsthand! Thank you for your comment and for engaging with the channel!

This is a terrible adaptation.. There is a good novelization of the play written by a relative, I think it's published by Bantam books.

Thank you for your comment! This video is a summary of Black Coffee, which was originally a play by Agatha Christie and later novelized by Charles Osborne. Our goal is to provide engaging recaps for those who enjoy classic mysteries. Of course, nothing replaces reading the full book! 😊 There is indeed another novelization, possibly the one you mentioned, published by Bantam Books. Each adaptation brings a different perspective to the original work!
