80s music TOTALLY ROCKED!!!! I'm so incredibly thankful that I grew up as a teen in that decade. The perfect time to be in the teen years. Back then we had to go to an arcade to play video games. We had drive in theatres and stone washed blue jeans. No internet, instead we actually had real friends who liked to do crazy things to have fun. Friday and Saturday nights we even went to the skating rinks. Oh it was so much fun, especially when you eyed that pretty girl you were scared to talk to. No we didn't text back then, there were no smart phones or cell phones. Back then you actually called a girl, if you had the nerve, and asked her out on a date. To top it all off the movies were great and so was TV back when everyone was always trying figure out what JR Ewing was up to on Dallas. We only got to see cartoons on Saturday morning, then after that we played outside all day trying to find an old tire to push down the hill to see it bounce. We played outside all the time. A wonderful time to be a kid, especially when you finally heard your favorite song from Casey Casem top 40 on the radio. If you were focused, you would record the song from the radio onto a tape recorder, LOL!!!

OMG you described my childhood to a tee! The first song that I ever recorded onto cassette was We're Not Going To Take It by Twisted Sister! You really summed it up from arcades to roller rinks. I see the neighborhood kids get off the school bus these days and straight into the house and disappear while us 80s kids couldn't be kept inside! The 80s where absolutely great times!

The artistic freedom, the still-developing evolution of the genres you mentioned, and the imagination to just do what the fuck you wanted to do musically. From the 80's to early nineties, we will NEVER see another era that was as excellent as that was. And from a black man who's an avowed Hip-Hop and metalhead, Poison was truly one of the underappreciated bands during that time. Their songwriting, musicianship, and performances were legendary. And their music still endures to this day of how great a group they were.

I love that imagery, a wild flowing river. And they still move together like that on stage, even after 33 years. I can't wait see them again in 2020.

There are no word's to describe how much i miss the 80"s.. My daughter knew the words to the song at 8yrs .. she loved this song.. it was our get the day going song.. I just started being able to listen to this song ..I lost my daughter 9 yrs ago to a drunk driver i had to let her go off life support.. her urn is on the shelf above my stero .. and i play this song everyday for us and i dance all around the living room like we always did.. i miss Kayla so much.. but i know she is with me.. looking out for me.. i fell from a 4th floor balcony.. i broke many bones but i didnt have no head trauma at all.. doctors where wow someones looking out for me.. i know i will see her again..but for now thanks Poison.. i have many memories of when we played this song and danced around together ❤️...Take Care 80's Fan's

I was Born in 1973, and I'm from Rome and this Song reminds me of High school days Poison were quite popular in Italy in the 80s and in the 90s, even though they never came to Italy By far my favourite hard rock band

Man, I remember I used to watch MTV all day long, and just fall in love with girls in the videos over and over and over again. There's a girl in the Nelson video for "Love and Affection" that is on screen once for literally 1 second, and I can still remember her face exactly to this day. The girl in Billy Idol "Rock the Cradle of Love", the Aerosmith videos with his daughter, this video, I mean... those were awesome videos back then. Lord knows what effect all that had on me to this day.

I had to go watch that Nelson video after you said this. It's gotta be the woman who appears towards the end just to mouth the words "baby" amiright?

The girl in Rock the Cradle of Love always reminds me of my crush back in early 90s because that song used to come on MTV when we were hanging out. Good times Rachel Kelly.

I agree, as a guitarist I've had a lot of influences and inspiration, but he's the only one who's really the one that I look at and think that one day I want to do that. His solos, his riffs, everything is just so great, gotta love him!

CC is great, but highly overrated. Mick Mars from Motley Crue could teach CC more than a thing or two.
