Poison Spider Moab with Toyota Tundra

Took a friend and his 4Runner up Poison Spider Mesa trail. Showed him a bit on spotting techniques and speed control on obstacles. Took a bit of time so we didn’t have an opportunity to finish the whole trail, I’ll be back to do the look and connect to golden spike.
Overall the trail was super fun, none of the obstacles were the ‘break your rig’ type and they were simply fun and most of them had some sort of bypass for anyone new to the rock crawl scene.

My friend has a Tundra and I told him... want a good rig? Copy this guy's build. Even with some scraping, this is very good for a long tundra!

With some good driving you can really squeeze these trucks into some wild places. Once I build the rear bumper I will hopefully have less dragging 🤙🏽

Thanks! Yeah I’m on 37’s and 5.29’s with a rear Eaton e-locker

Would a 4-6” lift mean less scraping ? Or just larger tires like in this trail ?

A combination of both would reduce the scraping of the belly, but the majority of the dragging was done from the rear bumper/hitch. So simply having a high clearance rear bumper would solve that issue. Which I have already built for the truck and you’ll be seeing in future videos. 🤙🏽

It’s an OME 3” suspension with HD Dakar leafs in the rear.

Seems to work really well that bumper you built looks bad ass…I run ome springs on the back of my first gen sequoia and love them but my tundra came with a procomp lift when I got it and I’m still on the fence with what to do with the rear suspension I swapped out the blown procomp front coil overs for 2.5 icons but that’s as far as I’ve gone on it so far.

Yeah I’ve ran OME coils on all my modded Toyotas and I’ve been happy. The Dakars have held up well to the added loads and offroad but they aren’t the flexiest. I do miss have a coiled rear.

Looks just like my tundra except I have a winch bumper, I do a lot of off-roading with mine too. Have you guys experienced a rattle in the front end when hitting small bumps at speed? Mine does it and I can't figure it out to save my life

Have you checked to make sure your radiator or hood isn’t loose in the mount or the bump stops? That’s a common issue. But otherwise I hear a crackle pop sound sometimes yeah

Nice bumper. What kind of Sliders are they? Did you make them also?

Thanks! The sliders are just normal 1.5” DOM but I’ll be replacing them with 1.75” DOM instead as they are more size appropriate and they’ll flex a little less under the weight of the truck.
