The Joker's exact origin is a mystery, barring that Batman was somehow involved. His origin elaborated in one of the greatest Batman stories of all time called Batman The Killing Joke where it is revealed that once he had been a failed stand-up comedian who worked night shifts at Ace Chemicals in a feeble attempt to support his sickly wife and their unborn child. They died just before the night that he helped a gang of thieves break into the Ace Chemicals plant, disguised as the infamous criminal Red Hood. Batman interrupted the heist, resulting in the would-be criminal falling into a vat of acidic chemicals. Washed out of the plant he removed his disguise to find that the chemicals had disfigured his entire body, giving him permanent chalk white skin, emerald green hair, blood red lips and his face a clown like appearance. Driven insane by this series of events he embraced it, believing that the greatest joke of all is that humanity is only "One Bad Day" away from total insanity. In that same story it is revealed that his "Bad Day" is a mystery to him as he doesn't exactly remember what happened to him or who he was (at least prior to him falling in a vat of chemicals) nor does he care to remember and says that if he were to have an origin story he prefers it to be multiple choice, indicating that everything we had read up to that point about his past might have been false. One the best traits of The Joker is that his origin is always supposed to be left ambiguous and forever partially unknown to the readers. He has no true alias. He has no family. He has no direct origin. He is a force of nature and all he desires is carnage and mayhem.

Fun fact about Two-Face (whose bio you read): He has a split personality that has tormented him his entire life and eventually to cover it and that's why he is the way he is, not just because of the acid thrown to him by the mob boss Salvatore Maroni. Also his double-headed coin once belonged to Harvey Dent's father before it entered his possession. Using it, he would decide whether a young Harvey would be beat or not - the coin always landing on heads.
@IntellectKIDMuzik Жыл бұрын
I saw a cool vid the other day by an actual psychiatrist(?) That said he actually seems to have a disassociative disorder? I could be saying that wrong, but basically, split personality doesn't normally allow for both persons(?) to interact and even argue with each other. He also may have a compulsive issue, which is why he needs the coin, to kind of justify his evil deeds. Almost as though, it's not his own doing, but the coin makes him do it.
@IntellectKIDMuzik Жыл бұрын
I failed at explaining that but, if you can find the video, you should check it out. He explains a lot of the Arkham inmates in a way that aren't explored, even in the shows/comics.

i know this comment is like 3 months old now so you might not care but a psychologist that I listen to a lot (dr drea letamendi ) mentioned that she thinks that Harvey doesn’t actually have DID but Bipolar Disorder, which is much more common in real life. I think it makes a lot of sense since if you have DID you can’t talk to your alters in real time, it’s like two (or more, but in this case two) people living in one body at different times. He might THINK he has two personalities but it might actually be him separating his unwanted feelings and impulsive actions from himself ! (idk if that makes any sense sorry my English is bad). Obviously we can’t know since he is not real but i think it’s a interesting way of looking at it !

You improved a lot on combat in this episode. One tip though, you should utilize the instant takedowns more often (the one you can do after every 5 combo hits). You can use it to takeout batons and special thugs. For stealth, there are plenty of stealthy takedown tricks that can spice up your play! - Corner Takedown: silent takedown approaching thugs when you are in corner cover - Glass Takedown: takedown any below a glass pane (loud) - Grate Takedown: hiding under the floor grate vents, exit and silently takedown nearby thug. In Arkham City, you can do this as a one-move action without having to manually exit the vents. - Ledge Takedown: while hanging on a ledge, you can silently takedown a nearby thug (loud) - Explosive Gel Takedown: you can explode a weak wall against thugs to take them down. Destroying weak walls on the floor below them also works the same.

3 tips ... One) You can do the Circle + Triangle and/or the Square + Cross combo maneuvers at any point after getting a x5 combo (5,10, 15 and so on), You do not have to wait for the on screen prompt. In my opinion the Circle + Triangle is a better option than Square + Cross. Two) To perform the inverted take down, the goon has be directly below the gargoyle (or very close to it anyway). Three) I would suggest using more silent take downs in Predator/Stealth areas. Sneak up behind an isolated dude and hold Triangle. After he is down grapple away or sneak into a vent. You'll have more time to get away than taking them down loudly (knock out after a glide kick or bat-erang. But, those are just suggestions. The most important part is to have fun.

“Memories can be vile. Repulsive little Brutes, like children I suppose…. Hehehehe. But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can’t face them, we deny reason itself. Although, why not? We aren’t contractually tied down to rationality, there is no sanity clause, so when you find yourself locked onto an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember, there’s always madness, madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside and close the door on All those dreadful things that happened. You can lock them away forever.” -Joker (The Killing Joke). “Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another.
