i'm trying to use this shader to switch through the color wheel on an object. i want the object to be a single solid color that goes through the different colors, rather than a spectrum pattern. how do i do this?
@angst_10 ай бұрын
Just to clarify: If you wanna be super emissive you're colors have to be bright. If you want to be super dismissive... idk something like this or whatever; it's not even that big a deal. If want be super omissive, you be

is it possible to do a gradient emission? i have gradient colours on the ends of my avatars hair but the emission is rectangular despite the top part being 100% transparent

I have a Flareon avatar and I combined scrolling, blinking and glow in the dark emissions to create something that looks like a fire is flickering inside its fluff that's more visible in darker areas. The one thing that's missing is for that glow to emit a small amount of light onto the surrounding environment. I've seen effects like that done in video worlds like Bedroom Theatre, where the video player emits a light on the walls similar to how a real TV would. There's also glow-in-the-dark/flashlight avatars that can light up the world. Is something like that possible to do with this shader, and if so, how would I make that happen? I'm fairly new to making avatars so I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

Only worlds can do that not avatars. You could put a light on it though.

@@poiyomi Thank you. I figured out the light source. Is there a way to make it flicker or look like it's flickering?

How do I light up the world with the emission? Even though I can see the emission in the dark, it doesn't light up other things in the world. Like if I have a box next to an emissive sphere in a dark room, the box doesn't get lit up.
@poiyomi3 жыл бұрын
you can't unless you're using ray tracing.

@@FlorianEagox You can't do it on an avatar. You can bake it on a map but you can't do it at all on an avatar.

@@poiyomi I am using emissions in a world and I would like to be able to light it up the using my emission. Is there something I can read or video I watch that will help me set this up with poiyomi? thank you
@DarkSwordsman Жыл бұрын
@@FlorianEagox Emissions themselves won't do that. However, you can add lights to your avatar centered around your emissions and it will light up the world around you. Just note that lights are *very expensive*. One or two isn't bad, but they scale per avatar, so if everyone had 2 lights and there's 40 avatars in a world, that could be 80 lights which would cause significant lag.

I'm new at unity and need a little help. For some reason my emission animation doesn't play on the scene unless i hit play. When i click anywhere on the screen it does update the animation for a frame but then it stops again, any idea of what could it be?

At the top of your viewport there's a drop-down with an option for animated materials
