I wanted Reshiram as it was my favourite of the two at the time so I decided to get white only to be disappointed. Then when black and white 2 were announced I decided to use reverse psychology and get black 2 in order to get reshiram only to yet again be disappointed. Had I only looked at the covers but then again this is how Zekrom became my favourite between the two.

Playing this game blind in 2011 was something to behold, as a diehard Pokemon fan, the intro caught me so offguard because instead of getting a cinematic showcase of the new player characters, region, starters, etc. we get the mysterious and almost ominous yet glorious scene where N is crowned king of Team Plasma, 11 year old me was so amazed by what i was watching, that i knew, i was gonna love this game from beginning to end, and i still do, it makes me wanna cry, because i miss this era, 2011-2012 were truly great years.

My only pet peeve about these two games specifically is the fact that the only way you can get Zorua and Zoroark is by transferring Celebi and the event shinies of Entei, Suicune, or Raikou and you can't do that until the post game. Seriously those two are my second favorite dark type Pokémon and were one of the main reasons I got those games. At least in Black 2 and White 2 you get a Zorua from the one sage that is still loyal to N

I miss this gen for several reasons but based off the title screen alone, I miss the sheer spectacle of seeing a legendary pokemon in 3d. Something that was never done before up til now. Seeing pokemon actually. Move and animate in black and white was so amazing as a young fan, to feel like its somehow come to life. Recent games are just not the same. Everything's 3d, the schedule for games is a lot tighter and it doesn't leave much room for interesting exploration or storytelling. Idk, BnW is next on the remake list so... let's hope they don't mess this up.

I dont know why but I love gen 5's low-poly 3d models of Reshiram, Zekrom, and the Kyurems. They just looked so much better than our current 3d models of the same pokemon. Maybe its the translucent materials on them, or the shading and colors, or just how sharp and surreal they looked, but they seemed more realistic to me than our current ones.

I recently saw someone recreate the title screens and something about how severely black and white the original models looked, the closeness of the camera shots, and the way Zekrom's eyes in particular look just,,, look more alive to me? In the recreations they just looked like they were standing there and staring blankly, but in the originals it somehow felt like they had so much presence that some shots gave the illusion that they might actually be looking at you as the camera swept by. Kudos to the animator that tried to recreate it ofc. I just prefer the originals. :P

Gens 3-5 were Pokemon's golden era, my god what amazing games they made. I miss old school pokemon like this where amazing stories were told, creative pokemon designs that I still love to this day were made and for gen 5 after you beat the elite four it gave what I believe to be was one of the greatest plot twists of all time. It's just such a shame they downgraded so much, now it feels like you pay for a $60 merchandise advertisement.

What’s funny is Gen 5 was the last time we got actual Monster and Animal looking starter trio. A snake? A 4 legged Seal lion? A Monstrous boar? Now a days Gen 6+ onwards have had the starters look way to humanoid, feminine and all bipedal. Like wtf Delphox has a skirt & wand, Primarina looks like a human fused with a seal & seems to wear a skirt aswell, and Rillaboom has Drums & Humaniod hair on its head, like wtf is up with starters holding objects now as part of there designs? I really despised Gen 6 onwards starters. (Aside from Chesnaught, Incenirorar, Cinderace, Inteleon and Skeledirge).

They will release 2 unique region remakes on the same console the day after Gen 5 gets an RSE remake.

Unova will never have a remake because there is no need to have one, it is a complete region and the entire plot and lore have no connection to other regions and therefore there is no need
