I had my suspicions about it, even moreso when Shigeki was revealed to be the old man in Viridian City, but it wasn't until it was revealed to be hidden on the east coast of Cinnabar that my mind was well and truly blown. The attention to detail there was beautiful. ...in spite of all that, the Missingno. sprite was missing that one black pixel that's surrounded by all that white that makes that part look like an eye and it was SO UNSETTLING TO ME!

Yeah tbh given the 'recent war we lost' backstory this could probably be seen as a very vague parallel, plus I'm pretty sure that the whole 'being more lenient towards the right wing' thing was something that actually happened in post-ww1 germany. Pretty sure they had a saying along the lines of 'the justice system works with the right eye closed' or something like that, and this Oak seems very much like he's part of the right wing in Rocket edition!Kanto. He probably has a lot of supporters, and not just the relatively harmless 'quick, support him while he's powerful to get into his good graces' kind like Agatha.

@@Lumberjack_king dunno, it didn't seem like anyone was recording it and Missingno. corrupted lots of data at the end. Plus with the witnesses being Red, who was deemed to have significant physical and mental issues and therefore probably unreliable for witness testimony, and Grunty Boi, who was himself a criminal trying to take the title of champ, it wouldn't be surprising if Oak convinced the law to deem the former unfit for testimony and the latter 'not to be trusted'. Plus he probably has the money for good lawyers, too, so it really isn't much of a surprise that he got out of that one. I'd say he needed minimal bribery to be declared guilty for Agatha's death.

A little ways into watching this I realize how insane the story's gonna be, so I stopped watching, downloaded the game, and played it for myself before resuming, and I was blown away at some of the insanity that awaited. Missingno. made it onto my own final team even before I knew you kinda had to bring it along- I mean, look at my username, it should be obvious I love that thing. That playthrough of mine, and of course this video, were awesome.

@@adams0123 It's seriously cool, and it's what got me so interested in Pokémon glitches in the first place. To this day I'll sometimes catch one in a Red/Blue playthrough as a Fly user. One thing that annoys me about this game, though, is that it cuts off the leftmost pixels on Missingno.'s body, which includes this one black pixel that's surrounded by that massive square of white- it makes it look like an eye, like Missingno.'s sprite shows it facing to the left of the screen. But yeah, hell, they made Missingno. an actual part of the game, I can't complain too much!

This was really good, they used parts of adventures manga to make this story work. The gym leaders being apart of rocket, Blaine using his dna to help make mewtwo. Again this is fantastic.

THIS WAS INSANE From grunt to bossy boi what a journey, and the devs really managed to piece together a great dramatic twist on Kanto that's full of fan theories, the plot was better than any official Pokemon game

Easily my favorite Pokemon Hack. It manages to tell a fun story that uses theories and other ideas while making up some creative ones in the process. It does well to make you feel like a rocket member and yet also gives you freedom to choose. My only gripe is that I wish the pokemon options were a bit better. Not to say it's awful but the majority of mons are Kanto and not from others. Which makes sense with the story but I wish more options were available to have more useful mons from other regions for a bit of diversity team wise. Regardless these are fine games I am glad to have scene you enjoy!

i like how Red is portrait in this. he's basically a Player character controlled by AI, making him the strongest trainer until the Grunt you play as steps into the spotlight, as it's basically an AI controlled super trainer, VS an actual trainer with free will and choice.
