When I first played platinum, and got to the E4, I got so frustrated with Aaron, I set down my DSi, and walked away before I died again, for the millionth time in a row. The vespiqueen always got me. When I returned, I had defeated Bertha, and the only Pokémon I had standing was my Torterra, at 1 HP. Turns out my Dad got bored, and beat Aaron and Bertha for me on the first try, with no items.

Hardest Elite 4 for me ever. Still is to this day and it's been eight years. Aaron's Drapion and Heracross... Bertha's Hippowdon, Rhyperior, and Gliscor. Flint and Lucian's entire team wrecked me constantly and continuously. That Brongzong has Levitate yet my fire attacks from a level 60 Infernape did jack. Did he somehow have Heatproof as well?

Poison was weak to ground since generation 2, and Dark didn't resist Ground, so Drapion was weak to that. As far as I'm aware, Aaron doesn't have any Air Balloons on his Pokémon, and any move that can do damage to the AB would automatically remove that AB anyway.

While not unique, I still think that it is the better of the E4 themes since it has some differences between the actual gym leader theme. I liked black 2 and white 2s story, but gen 4 was the best in terms of starters, soundtrack, characters, and it was probabaly the most difficult game out of the other gens

Gen 5, in my opinion it had the best villain group, N was an exceptional rival, it had the most unique story, introduced many new items that are used in competitive play, introduced numerous Pokemon that are used in competitive play, and is one of if not the only Generation where you get the mascot Legendary AFTER the eighth gym leader
