I don't know why but this theme gives me a cool idea for a Fakemon and it's surrounding lore. Also long comment thread here so be warned. I feel like we need a Ghost Type with a new signature sound based ability that's an Inanimate object Pokémon that has multiple different forms and dual Typings based on what musical instrument it's possessing for a rival to use with this battle theme. I'd personally go with Ghost Electric for a sort of string instrument form like a Lyre or Guitar (an electric sort of reverberation and shockwaves of sound and electricity), a Ghost Fighting Type for a percussion based instrument like a Djembe or Bongos (bold and rhythmic and filled with fighting spirit like a martial artist), a Ghost Bug type for a String and now instrument like a Viola (small and can make that high pitched buzzing like melody), A Ghost Flying Type for a Woodwind instrument form like an old wooden flute (very high pitch notes and flighty and fluttering melodies while also eeriely howling and windy), a Ghost and Normal type form for a brass like instrument like a coronet or saxophone (because of very basic solid notes and pure loud volume which is more normal). It's ability would be the long forgotten and only scrapped ability Cacophony but severely reworked and upgraded. The user is immune to sound based moves just like Soundproof and what was originally Cacophony's affect. But in addition it would work hand in hand with this Pokémon's signature sound based Move which I'd like to call Sound of Spirit. A base 90 Power 10 PP Special Ghost Type Move that can't miss. Where the user channels the life energy of those around it and it's own musical spirit into a powerful blast of differently pitched sound waves. It is such an otherworldly sound that tugs hearts and minds of those who hear it into a trance like state that it will be heard by any target regardless of Type or Ability. Meaning that other Pokémon otherwise immune to sound based moves (those with Soundproof) are in fact still susceptible to damage albeit reduced by half. Based on what form this Pokémon is in, it's Ability Cacophony would change the type of this move from Ghost to whatever secondary type it's in based on it's form. This way it always gets STAB. And the way to access it's different forms is like with Rotom. But instead of different household appliances it instead possesses different "enchanted instruments" through a Musician's catalog. The Enchanted Lyre, the Enchanted Drums, the Enchanted Bow, the Enchanted Flute, and the Enchanted Horn. Their menu items descriptions reading "an unknown version of what seems to be a custom modded (Lyre, Drumset, Bow and string instrument, Flute, Brass Horn) that seems to exude a strange melancholic musical aura that beckons to be played. They were ordered from a discontinued Music catalog found in the trash and received in the dead of a silent night from a shadowy, hooded and cloaked mute stranger" And you get this catalog from looking in a random trash can on the outskirts of the main city of the region and if you select which one you want then go to a nearby street corner at night that has the only working street lamp at night, a young man about your age who's face is obscured by the shadow of his trench coat and beat up worn out hat. Nearby during different days of the week during the day there will be NPCs who mention that about a few years ago there used to be a young man who used to sit on the corner would ask for money in exchange for playing a variety of worn out instruments he always somehow had appear next to him whenever he needed. Supposedly about a decade ago he was once a rising star Pokémon Trainer who tragically lost his Pokémon after some jealous well dressed goons roughed him up. Supposedly they also used to work at the abandoned Record Studio and radio station across the city. But then one day he disappeared. And that very night, a violent earthquake hit the city but the only building harmed was the giant Record Studio that was left totally decimated. Apparently all the workers and big wigs were buried under the rubble but never found. And sometimes on that street corner at night, people especially those who are teens and young adults can hear music in the dead of night so beautiful it tugs at their very soul. But to some who tend to be more uppity they complain of ear splitting headaches from horrendous noise they hear at night. But if you supposedly go to the destruction site of the abandoned Record Studio at night, you will hear nothing but silence. Not a single sound can be heard, not even the normal city them music or even the sound of the players footsteps. Not even the sound of the menu or controls. But if you have the Ghost Type musical instrument in your party and a Pokémon you have high friendship or happiness with them the hooded stranger will appear there waiting for you. Where he will say "What is the music of life to some is only the din of death to others. I found this out first hand. But this . . . this is beautiful. What is the sound of silence to some is the gorgeous melody of their doom to others such as myself. They tried to silence me, so now they shall sing for me for all of eternity. Let this be a warning to anyone who dares try to silence anyone, especially the young and the innocent and less fortunate. Let this show you the true power of silence. And you . . . I pray that your journey is long and filled with the music of your life. But if you should ever choose the path of silencing those who are simply singing to their own tune . . . I'll be waiting for you. Right here. And so will they."

it is asia but its not japan its south Asia specifically India a lot of asian countries use flutes and string instruments as well. also the flutes in gen 5 arent japanese there native american
