I told this to my friends while we were watching the reaction, but yeah I agree. Greninja remains my favorite Pokemon ever. As much as I love him, Delphox and Chesnaught need something to boost their aesthetic. It’s not fair to them, especially with how cute Chespin, Fennekin and Braixen are. I personally played black and white first. But I was way too young to understand everything else about the game besides the battling and "cool creatures". (Now it's imo the best game) X and Y is what made me fall in love with the series. I watched the XYZ show all the way through again and let me say. It's the best pokemon series they've done, Ash had relations with pokemon besides Pikachu, unlike other times when it's just when they are leaving. Serena is the most fleshed out side character the series has seen. And obviously Ash Greninja was cool AF as a kid who picked Greninja. The Zygarde plot was really cool as well. After watching as a kid, I was like "why stop at Y, where's Z??" I mean Z was literally in the anime. So I wondered why not here. Now that it's here, I'm fulfilling that.

But also it can reference the time where paris (the real world counterpart of lumiose city) have undergo a reurbanization program. It was around 1800's.. it will bring closure to the kalos storyline whenever its past or future..
