Yeah, I was that edgy kid who picked Spearow over Pidgey. I thought it was cool to have a Fearow vs Pidgeot battle vs Blue, and Fearow is actually one of the best flying types in all of Gen 2 if you get the trade Spearow

In R/B/Y the Best Pokemon to have as your Flying Type is actually Aerodactyl. Most people use Pidgeot, but even Farrow has higher stats and gets Drill Peck sooner.
