Nemona’s mind control is funny to me personally, because its one of two things. Either her love for battle is strong enough it somewhat overrides the brainwashing, or even better yet, she is willing to let herself get mind controlled if it meant she’d be made to fight people. I find both options hilarious and in character. PS Nemona and Penny were kinda cute hypnotized. Penny in particular I found oddly endearing, seeing how she was REALLY into the dance.

You can see Arven mochi dance much slower than the rest. It's because he's too embarrassed about it. As for Penny, her obsession with Eevees manage to resist somehow. Three of player friend seem to be strong enough to resist it. Nemona for obvious battle lust easily overide it

There is one thing though. Remember when the Loyal Three was revived right after Kieran punched the monument? Look closely at his fist and a smudge of the same aura as the "Mochi People" is shown on his fist right when he punched it

That's the main theme of scarlet and violet as a whole: reversing expectations, heck, it's possible the next game of the series isn't related at all with unova, and Game Freak is just trolling us...

To be fair, there are signs that he was slightly influenced by him. The moment he first starts lashing out the camera moves out of it's way to show Pecharunt in the shot. When he punches the wooden post at the Loyal Three monument, his fist lets off the same purple "smoke" that the posessed in the pilogue are constantly exuding, and then in the official main artwork for Indigo Disk, you can also see that purple smoke around his fist. Dunno if this is meant to show that his more edgy attitude was, in part, induced by Pecharunt, or if it's part of a plotline that was cut.

I mean it's a welcome one. I like that Kieran's start of darkness, resulting downfall and eventual redemption was all part of a character development arc where he starts with insecurities and jealousy, is pushed to a point where he allows said problems to consume him, and has to be taught the hard way that he's being harmful to others and himself and eventually realizing that he messed up big time and actively tries to stop the problem his misguided actions have caused in the first place. It makes Kieran a surprisingly deep and dynamic character and an interesting rival with emotional issues who both serves the role of "friendly rival" and "mean rival" at different points of his character arc. To make him "possessed" and thus strip him of agency and deny him his accountability and realization of his wrongs would just cheapen his storyline.

Fun fact! The Mochi Mayhem event shares a number of similarities with the real-life dancing plague of 1518 which had occurred in Alsace (modern-day France). In both cases: 1) Both involved mass outbreaks of spontaneous, uncontrollable dancing. 2) Both events were caused by food poisoning (Binding Mochi for Mochi Mayhem, and theorized ergot for the dancing plague). 3) And a woman was the first known afflicted person (Carmine, from what we know, for Mochi Mayhem, and Frau Troffea for the dancing plague).

Nice top, I admit that despite the bugy quality and graphics, Scarlet and Violet are among the best games in the series, Violet is the first game since Black 2, and Heartgold and Platinum before it that really caught me and I played for more than 200 hours four having good content and offering nice experiences, Legends: Arceus is up there too for having a great plot and being so different to the rest of the main games, but I ended the game and caught Arceus in less than 100 hours but still is without doubt among the bests.

One unintended side effect of this Mochi Dance is that, as all NPCs and the player character are coded to look directly into the eyes of the person they're interacting with, everyone looking at Carmine is nodding to the beat of the music because Carmine's eyes move up and down while she dances. Even Kieran is nodding as he approaches her. Love that.

Kinda feel sorry for Carmine. While everyone was doing this for a single night, but Carmine, by the subtext, looks to have been doing this for a few days. Doing the chicken dance is exhausting for a few hours, but Carmine looked to have been doing it so much she collapsed from exhaustion.

The epilogue was so much fun to play through. The music and story were amazing. However, after seeing today's lore video about Pecharunt, I feel kind of conflicted. Pecharunt has been hibernating for maybe hundreds of years, having lost all it cared for.
