Was introduced to Pokémon via this song. I listened to so much of this pop music throughout my early years, when baby one more time came out, I was like, barely 2 years old…..when January 2000 came I was swept in the pokemania, January 17 of that year was my birthday, that day we went to watch this. Pretty sure this was the first movie I saw in theaters. Going to the movies to see this was the most nostalgic experience ever. That same year during the summer I got to see Pokémon 2000, and Lugia instantly became my favorite Pokémon. Got to listen to more of Britney’s stuff throughout most of my childhood whilst also starting to play Pokémon games around September 2006 where I got to play Diamond and Pearl, first Pokémon game I’ve ever played, after I got my first ever gaming system, a DS. Christmas that year, I also got a Wii. Thank this movie for introducing me to Pokémon while also getting further invested in Britney’s music. PS: This movie’s soundtrack is kickass.

It’s my weekend! And I went on one of my frequently reoccurring nostalgia trips because I suddenly thought of a very old memory of a mere commercial I saw as a little kid - Britney Spears singing for the Pokémon the First Movie soundtrack. I remember going to Costco with my dad, seeing the VHS tapes, and jumping up and down pleading to buy it. And yes, my good old dad bought me the movie. 🙂 Anyway, I just KZbind the song Britney sang in the Pokémon soundtrack and I’m not disappointed. In fact, I’m shook. Because this song really showcases her vocal chops. I mean, she can REALLY sing. And it just shows how the corrupt and vile industry controlled her and prevented her from actually using her real voice because it wasn’t “commercial” enough, not as shallowly consumptive as the overly sexualized way they tried to portray her. I’m loving every bit of this song.
