It full set was item : weakness policy. ability : Intimidate -Power trip -Drain punch -Bulk up -Flame charge I had an screen setter so incineoar can set up more easily. And pick whicherver hazard setter you want, so you don't mind sturdy or focus sash.

Joey I think you should have killed Gengar as soon you got that one cosmic power+ recover off. At that point you weren't poisoned and we knew from Heatean vs Farigiraf that he wasn't offensive and he wasn't faster than your Chimeco either. I think you fell into the trap of worrying too much about the absolute worst set you could face to defeat you by Farigiraf which was actually a non threat to non poisoned Chimecho.

He didnt know it wasnt spatk invested because Mefesto only clicked earthquake and Joey never hit farigiraf on the special side, so at most all he could know was that it had some defense or hp investment because of u-turn damage from pult, but he never knew farigiraf didnt have spatk investment

@@zackfaircc5624 barely mattered at that point unless he thought it was going to be toxic farigiraf based off of thinking it was defensive from the previous u-turn damage. he can chip it down and if farigiraf attacks to kill then pult just comes in and kills with u-turn. if it starts setting up or healing then joey just does the same. getting poisoned and wasting recovers against the gengar was a poor choice that prevented from setting up more cosmic powers at the end

@@davidwaxter66 you say that, but joey didnt know speed investment on the giraf even though it was more than likely none and he also didnt know spatk investment. now, gengar's sludgebomb into farigiraf psychic killed and he was trying to prevent that from happening. I also agree that he should have just killed gengar because due to the u-turn damage the likelihood of giraf being offensive was lower, but dont make it out to seem like it was an obvious decision, hindsight is 20/20 after all and in the moment he made a worse decision but nonetheless a valid one. Plus there is the fact that he still might get poisoned on the turn he should have gone for stored power and at that moment he would die to uninvested psychic and lose at that moment instead of having a fighting chance (which he still did had he realized charge beam boosting and forcing farigiraf to recover was overall better for chimecho's longevity and damage output than cosmic powering)

i think the play in front of farigiraf was spam charge beam. get boosts and do as much damage as possible and ko with pult u-turn. i think going for stored power win there wasn't the move because of the poison. maybe earlier in the game you could have gone for immediate grass knot on sandaconda and ko gengar asap instead of setting up in front of it for so long. ofc if you hit wisp on the giraffe you would have been good

Stored powering into Gengar whenever you had enough boosts was always the play man (+1, +1, +1 was plenty). You could always cosmic/recover in front of Farigaraf. Risking poison each turn was the way you were gonna lose. You also could have cosmic powered in front of Ace if you calc'd. I just think you maximized the poison possibility and you had to figure Farig would have wish. Like yeah you could fear Ace critting you but the likelihood of hitting 90% pyro through para and critting vs trying to setup in front of Gar which obviously would have sludge bomb to poison you 4 or 5 turns just doesn't seem ideal to play out to me. Once poisoned I thought it was obvious you would lose to Farig

Swords Dance + Sacred Sword could have been a problem couldn't it? since it ignores the defense boosts from cosmic power... I wouldn't have tried to setup chimecho before knowing samurott's set... Also if i was mephesto i've would brought scarf plot. even though overqwil can wall that, it has plenty of answers and it lacks recovery too. That could have been scary for chimecho. Also, they really have just stalled you out with wish + protect you needed charge beam boosts from the beggining.

I really wish developers of compettive gameplay design would resign of critical hit and miss machanics. They completely don't fit to this style of game where every single move is so important and may decide your victory. There is so many other possibilities to replace miss/critical damage - for example more punishing self - stat drops for stronger moves, some risk involved with stronger moves ( like will fail if opponent switches out or will hurt the user if opponent is immune to it ) or long term disadvantage for stronger moves ( like move becomes less powerfull after every use and this persists inbetween switches ).
