Just opened up one ETB, and one sticker pack of each kind. No SIR's for me, but I got 4 baby shinies (Charmeleon included), Shiny Pidgeot and Gardevoir, Pawmi AR, Judge and 5 regular ex cards. Two being doubles and one being a Charizard.

They really shredded any kind of value of full art shinies with this set. I’ll be buying the 2 cards I want and never opening a pack of Paldean Fates.

You say that now but the pull rate is gonna drop just like it always does just like hidden fates did and now look at how popular hidden fates it especially when you have that first print boxes

@@PokeDave978 Did the pull rate drop with Shining Fates? That’s the set you should be comparing it to, not Hidden Fates. I’ll answer for you, no they didn’t and they also printed that into oblivion. I wasn’t talking about pull rates anyway. I was referring to SIR’s being in a Shiny set. They make the actual full-art shiny cards worth a fraction of what they would be without them.

I highly doubt pull rates will be altered the SV pull rates have been pretty stable....

I ripped 2 PC ETBs the night before release and I gotta be honest... I had WAY MORE fun ripping into this set than I thought I would. The baby shinies really pop and even if the pull rates are too "easy" as claimed by some, I think it's a really fun rip. You mentioned ripping sets where the main chase has very low value. It doesn't bother me too much. I'll still buy products that have S&V base packs included. There's still a ton of cards I need for the set and I just enjoy the pulling my own cards. Would I go as hard on S&V base as I would a set like... Lost Origin or Evolving Skies? (if you look hard enough, you can still get ES at retail prices) Probably not but I wouldn't shun the set completely just because the "value" isn't there. Values are all fake anyway. They're determined by demand more than anything. If demand ever falls off a cliff, so will the values of the singles. I just collect because I love the way TPCI does shiny cardboard. Values be damned.

Personally, I prefer the chase cards being reasonable. SV base and Paldea Evolved were both great for pull rates. It makes collecting with young family members alot easier...

i went to my local Walmart on release day and picked up the ETB and the sticker 3 pack. i only got an ex from the 3 pack but i got the shiny mew ex full art and the SIR mew ex from the ETB along with 3 baby shinies and another base ex

Is it me or is it harder to pull an SIR? Opened 7 3pk and my bro opened 2 etb and no SIR, just a some ex's, some baby shinies, 2 FA shinies, 2 trainers FA and one IR. My other bro opened 2 etb and no SIR either and so so pulls. 😂

As defeating as it is, I don’t think people want easy to pull rares. Sure that’s how you converge on evolving skies, but people respect the cards, the set, and the hobby more when it’s a “real” treasure hunt

I would agree with this, personally, I love a solid “treasure” hunt for the top pulls that hold good value. Hunting a $45 top chase card doesn’t do it for me, but that’s not to say it’s a bad thing for someone else!
