In addition, if all Greninja had battle bond ability then all Greninja we've seen in Kalos (only 4) could bond evolve, which we will probably never see. I'm aware that Pikachu and Meowth can use phenomenon without fully evolved but it's definitely not "battle bond" it's Gigantamax
