This got better and better as it went along. HILARIOUS! There were a few little things every now and then that weren't perfect but it's definitely the best pokemon VFX I've seen on KZbin. Wish I had them skills. Great acting too (the over the top stuff made it good - I mean that's how the game characters act!) Loved the ending too... so good!!! :P

I've seen every episode of every season, thank you. I bought Pokemon Blue in the year that it was released, and have since acquired and beaten every game since. I now battle competitively. I am also something of an otaku. I have a respectable library of anime knowledge with which to judge the anime, which I can say was decent when I was much younger. Nostalgia diverts the attention of some, but I can fairly say that despite the anime being (obviously) popular, it's not that good. The first half of the first season, and the current XY season are both acceptable. However, everything else (the vast majority of episodes, think Best Wishes, etc) are crap. Please don't insult my expertise, in both subjects. No, I'm no professor, but I certainly know what I'm talking about.

That is a failure, then, to objectively analyze the individual episodes. You're letting nostalgia dictate your opinion. And although that is the tendency of human memory (to remember past positives more fondly than current positives, as they are behaviorally inductive), it is still a disregarding of reality due to sentiment. The new episodes are childish, perhaps, and plot-device driven. However, the original episodes were much more guilty.

It actually makes more sense for the healing to take forever. In the anime, sometimes it shows Ash waiting a very long time between him giving Nurse Joy his pokemon and the healing sound. Probably because they're actually taking their time and doing it right, which is with their hands, instead of spraying a bunch of healing items into the pokeballs with a machine.
