Yes, the Gen V games certainly had a WAY deeper storyline and plot and also a whole lot of backstory hidden into the games and things learned from talking to NPCs. Also the characters are WAY more complex- N was the perfect character. I think the games are becoming more complex because as time moves forward, so do the ages of the target audiences from Gen I and Gen II, as they are changing from young kids to 15, 20+ years olds.
