Personally I think the 5th generation is everything a great Pokemon generation should be. Amazing story, diverse region, a ton of new quality and quantity amounts of Pokemon, great music, lots of well-crafted characters, tons of side stories and lore in almost every location you visit, awesome post-game in the sequel that, in my opinion, surpasses Johto's post-game.

Gen 5, also part of my childhood. Gen 4: Elementary years Gen 5: Middle school years. Yeeeeeees. And I played Gen 5 longer than any other, despite gen 4 being my most favorite. I have so many hours on my White and White 2. Played that game everyday from 2012 until 2017 when I finally got Sun. Lol

Gen 4 was really good, I didn't really like Gen 5 that much tho. It had some really cool stuff, but overall it's not my cup of tea. Maybe because I grew up with the older games like Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Sapphire/Emerald :)

THIS was absolutely incredible. Gen 5 is easily my favourite generation with the best soundtrack of them all. The original theme is a super underrated battle theme (stomps all the other minor legendary themes flat in my opinion) and this remix just elevates it. The bit from 0:45 - 1:11 is my favourite part. The drive and purpose after the tempo shifts gives me goosebumps

So. This level of intensity, playing randomizer; max random mode. Song scares me on the startup alone, but I'm like "oh a level 4 moltres that's cool, legendary spawns" but I didn't take the theme serious... Until I attacked, and it said no effect. The bird had a Wonder Guard and suddenly I had a foe I couldn't actually damage. Love randomized games, they make the coolest scenarios.
