I honestly can’t decide on which awakening I like more between the two. The sound effect for Zekrom’s electricity charging up is incredible, but something about Reshiram’s melancholic cry combined with the sad sounding yet heroic chords behind it all just hits me in a way different way. It almost seems as if Reshiram itself is responding to Zekrom with an “I won’t let you win” sort of challenge, and it just completely wrecks me.

For Ho-oh, it is obvious that the cutscene in HGSS was designed for him and not for Lugia. But here, the 2 dragons are very similar. However, it feels like this scene fits Reshiram more.

Wew, 5 years, huh... still amazing moment :D Whole BW ending, with the castle suddenly appearing in the middle of your Pokémon League challenge, Gym Leaders rushing in to help you, finding N's room and the two girls that grew up with him, having "The Talk" with N and summoning legendary dragons to your sides to battle it out, and then immediately Ghetsis coming in to kick your ass. Fuck Sword&Shield, this is the pinnacle of the Pokémon franchise.

tbh Zekrom almost seemed like the canon choice story-wise. Reshiram fits N's character but this scene and everything leading up to it ... Reshiram awakening at the last second to help you against N just feels more powerful than the reverse when Zekrom does it.

While I get that Black and White are supposed to represent Ying and Yang, I see the Truth vs Ideal motif in a different light. Ideals drive change and can be a means of driving someone to something, be it a goal or what have you. however Ideals can be false. Truth in contrast, is inherently more stagnant. However, Truth is absolute. its what plants us in reality, and it gives us a measure to what is right and wrong. Therefore, Truth is inherently correct. Zekrom represents N perfectly, an Idealistic person who is completely adamant in their beliefs. Being manipulated by Ghetsis his whole life, N believes the false truth that Pokemon are tools/slaves to their trainers and that they needed to be freed. Zekrom represents N's ideal that Pokemon and humans should be separated, something that would alter the Unova region, and the Pokémon World for the worse. This the primary reason why N overall loses in this climatic fight. Reshiram in contrast, represents the opposite. The Truth that Pokémon and Humans were indeed designed to coexist with one another in this world and work together, basically complementarianism. Hubert/Hilda's drive to defend the world from negative change represents this fact, and is probably the reason why the player wins in the end (besides having either an over-leveled team or spamming full restores). Another way of looking at it is, Truth can drive your ideals, but your ideals can't dictate truth. Also, this is why Black is the canonical game. White is the alternative.

Yes, I've finally found the actual video of this scene. I have to say... this is one of my favourite scenes in the whole game. I played through both Black and White more than once, but to me THIS is my personal favourite of the two. The two pieces of music N's Dragon/Zekrom, and the Awakening/Reshiram just suits their characters so perfectly. The flurry of dancing flames that circle Reshiram at 0:28 onwards just works so well in timing with the music.
