Man, this is such a good video. I love running challenge runs in Shining Pearl, so seeing a youtuber run it is enjoyable! It's more challenging that you'd think; especially the E4 and Cynthia. The fact that the gym leaders use real items, strategy, and evs is crazy. ILCA cooked in that department.

I'll be honest I had my doubts. The idea was a hilarious gimmick but I didn't expect to like it. But... Spoilers. But then, I stuck around till the Wake gym battle. My guy. This is how you milk entertainment and I'm glad you did it because that gym battle had my attention locked in and invested until the end. I love the final team you took to the E4 and Cynthia. The Guau Guau solar beam strat was good today see in action as well as the great defence of cotton guard and roost on best girl Unga. The great physical bulk on Bunga was also fun to see in practice just eating up non ground damage. I have a dumb little theory on why Altaria kept getting frozen EVERY time it used cotton guard. I could be wrong. But. Maybe it's because Cotton Guard is a grass type move. Maybe there are moves that alter the "body" of the Pokémon. Like how Roost gets rid of the Flying typing, or Forest's Curse adds on the Ghost typing on top of 2 existing types on a dual typed Pokémon, or especially how the apparently exclusive moves Powder and Tar Shot make the target get boosted damage from Fire type moves, essentially giving the target a lite version of the ability Fluffy for a single turn, minus the defence boost and changing the "body" so that it's more susceptible to Fire damage. So maybe there is some hidden coding or logic or lore behind Cotton Gaurd boosting defence in such a way gives it Fluffy like quality but also gives the user Grass type like weaknesses, in this case Ice typing, even if not by damage calculations but the additional chance of status conditions ie Freeze. That was probably too long winded but I hope I was able to make sense of my point. Love your videos and your sense of humour. Peace! ❤️

I just finished my hardcore nuzlocke of bdsp. Perospero the lickilicky was probably the runs mvp never used one before but he was an absolute unit. Swords dance body slam and power whip holding lefties made the league a cake walk. Gastrodon Infernape Mr mime Gengar Honchcrow rounded out my team everyone had there moments

Naturally out speeding doesn't matter if you're not ev trained. The E4 pretty much perfects their main stats, which is something you would have to go out of your way to do.

When i do a nuzlocke in bdsp i have a rule that you can atleast have level 31-32 for Wakes gym because its just stupid having two gyms with the same level cap

I would like to do a Nuzlocke, I got Shining Pearl (only; on occasion I do get both Gen games) but have no way of recording all my game play and feel the NEED to have recorded prof of success IF I could/ did succeed… Cause if I can’t prove it- it never happened. It’s also how I feel about when others claim stuff, so I have to live by it myself, only fair. Anyhow, I have been doing challenges using the Switch 30second recording system for those important fights like rival & gym fights. I had started a idea I had of running with traded/ outside Pkmn, taking piplup that I had no intention of using, so my rival had Tortwig and gave myself a Balbasaur, Squirtle, Treeko, Mudkip & Riolu lvl 1s from my PokéBank, used Piplup to help me get at least on to lvl4 before depositing it… (NOT allowing myself FIRE types) Beat the first gym with the 5 plus the Abra you can get by trading a machop from the grass; but then after lvl 10 noticed obedience issues… Learned how the badge obedience thing works… Had to use Piplup and another Pokémon I got to get through the 2nd gym… but went for doing so at as low level as I could… Both were lvl20 after the gym.. Anyhow, the fighting & water gym were interesting challenges, I tell you! Particularly since in the fighting gym non of my team of traded/ foreign to my ID # Pokémon were higher than lvl25, for obvious reasons. Tried & was going to allow myself X items in battle… But her Meditite is a terrible Pokémon to try to set up against- at least with a Kadabra anyhow 😅 So haven’t used potions or X items. AFTER the water gym, things got/ felt like your basic difficulty run; but for two gyms, WOW lol Got a Onix solo attempt and a solo unevolved Chimchar attempt files that I need to grind before taking on that electric gym… That surf on his Raichu… Either my Onix is just bad or it’s surf is gnarly as with my Onix lvl71 going it got 1 shot by surf (has rock head) and at lvl80 can barely survive one, but too slow. Have all the gym fights recorded with the switch 30 seconds of recording system with this too. But that recording system not being able to record 30minutes to an hour of play time, makes it *an inadequate way to record a Nuzlocke challenge* for me. So haven’t done one…

Like the ice types are neutral to quag and whiscash, they’re also frail so I’d have to resort to pivoting etc etc. if I had max IVs/perfect EVs + better items like the e4 it’d be different for sure
