Flipping through binders is honestly my favorite way to shop for singles. It sucks there are some bad actors ruining it for everyone. The Pokémon community is wholesome (for the most part) and I’m glad guys like you bring awareness to these scumbags. They do not belong.

I think it’s wild that conventions are the hot spot. Like venues, content creators, bystanders and booths all potentially have cameras. There’s a lot of product there but SO much potential to get caught the thought process just gotta be out of this world to think it’s safe to do something like this at all and then to decide to try it here. These types of people have always been around. It happened a lot in 1999/2002 but it stopped when the hobby died out. Those thieves 25 years ago are back in the hobby. He careful everyone!!!!

Someone swiped over $1000 of vintage packs from my booth as well. Heavy Japanese Base pack, Light Japanese Base pack, and a heavy unlimited base set pack.

Brutal stuff. I was at a sports card show in edmonton on the weekend and basicly all i bought was little singles from binders and bins. I always make sure i say hi to the vendor to try and let him know im cool and ik not gonna swipe his stuff. I try to put myself in their shoes and act how i would want someone to treat me in that situation.

I was there and it was nut to butt packed with almost every vendor having at least 10 people at it(Least when I went Saturday morning) I thought to myself several times that I could just walk away with this stuff and they wouldn't even notice. But I'm not a scumbag dickhead like this guy and didn't act on those thoughts. He probably didn't realize they all have cameras because I never saw any, they hide them well.

I was at CAC DFW as well. I put up a Go Pro at my friends booth and he had someone steal an etb full of Darkness Ablaze packs from his table. Sadly the box was just off the view of the GP. But if you're a vendor, you got to have eyes all the time, 24/7 on your stuff sadly.

I work at a smaller retailer and we recently got new pokemon product in from Mj Holding. I immediately tryed to explain to my manger about how that is something people will be stealing but since MJ holding is accountable for the losses they could care less. To make the situation worse, there's someone offering to buy back stolen packs for a 1$ each cash and is weaponizing the local homeless population to do their bidding.

They ruin it a lot. I’ve seen someone rush out of an isle Just as I’m coming into the isle not realizing they stole something. Others open a pack/ ETB a few mins prior to me reaching the store. Stealing at the convention is just as crappy as always. These people will never admit it nor learn 😢

Mine too but, its a pain. You have to get in line and wait while people checkout then try to tell the worker who has no clue which product you want, get one that isn’t damaged if you want it kept sealed have the worker put it back if it is damaged then wait in line again to check out.

Honestly, with no security check or visible security or visible security cameras this shit is gonna happen all the time. I didn’t see one collect a con employee except for at ticket exchange. Never even saw a “security guard”. Fortunately, for them they have recording in progress. Just know if you’re going to sell at one of these events man people can be shit. To be totally honest, he probably sold them before they even found them. We were at this collect a con and let me tell you it was CROWDED!
