The rock vs bug existential crisis was everything I did when fairy was introduced in gen 6. So many pokemon changed in the hierarchy and I had to rethink my whole life

You know with the context of Pokémon battles as competitive sport in universe it would make sense for the technology to be created for them to be stadium sized AND for the Pokémon professor to disapprove of it’s use. I think it’s a cool concept but I also dislike the actual impact on the battles it has when there are already two “one per battle” elements introduced in the previous two generations.

First off: loving the nuzlocke, and I'm so excited for kaminari to become a beautiful Luxray 🤗 Second, regarding gen 5 (my second favourite gen of games and my fave dex): since gen 5 was a soft reboot, they set it in a different continent (the first four were in Japan, and gen 5 was set in the US). Personally, I really loved how the gen 5 dex showed how pokemon with similar traits can evolve separately (with even an ocean dividing them, for instance). It was weird that Luvdisc or Taurus didn't get evolutions but there are lots of animals in real life that look similar but aren't closely related at all. A lot of people didn't like gen 5, but I thought it was neat :) (Sorry if some of that wasn't clear, it's hard to proof read on my phone)

I did the numbers, and as of gen 4 only 84.4% of Pokemon are part of an evolutionary line. However! If you remove the legendary Pokemon from this count (as it's unlikely that the NPCs in the game know a lot about them), then 90.8% of Pokemon evolve, which is pretty dead on! also, I love the editing on these. Leaving the messed up take in the start, the lil wooloo rolling past, it's wonderful

Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't one of the complaints about Gen 4 that so many of the new Pokemon were evolutions of old Pokemon? Maybe Gamefreak designed those Pokemon, heard the complaints, and then backpedaled and made them stand-alones. Pardon me if I am mistaken!
