It's so much harder. Like in the first game, I think I won the first or second time I got a legendary... I've found 2 legendaries so far and haven't made it past the 6th or 7th gym

Had my first run yesterday, 4th dragon gym leader wiped out 5/6 of my team, spamming protect and healing 😭 wild dodrio finished me off in the next encounter lmao

I just started playing Emerald Rogue and would love to watch you explain your thought process on team composition, strategies, threats, etc. The video was fun to watch but there's a ton of decisions I probably missed, and since the game got harder I guess most people would love that :)

I mostly just try to go for type diversity and team synergy. If I have a Pokemon with Snow Warning, I'd try and get another pokemon with Slush rush for example. The website Pkmn.help is a good one, if you put your teams types into it, it'll show you your common weaknesses and you can then figure out ways to patch them.

I'm in my 3rd run and I lost to Giovanni, mostly because I ran out of healing items mid run so I lost the attrition battle losing x2 pokemon along the way... Even though 3 of my mons had Leftovers. I guess you picked either gen 9 protagonist. The character you pick at the begin determinates what gym leaders/Elite 4 you get until you get to the hall of fame, which will enable the option to change them through either the config lab or the C-Gear (or just check the back wall of the config lab to find the secret area to enable the post-game stuff early).

Haven't tried 2.0 but in 1.0 you had to beat the game once (or there was a slightly hidden method) to unlock the post-3 gens

2.0 there's two starting Pokedex - Classic and Modern. Classic is like 1.0 - just gens 1-3. modern has 400 curated Pokemon from Gen 1-9. You choose which you use when you start the game.
