Pokemon: Giovanni VS Silver

Long time-fans might remember this matchup because I already made a battle like this 3 years ago. Back then, Silver won without breaking a sweat since the team I used for Giovanni was more than outdated (I used his team from Pokemon Yellow since it is technically his strongest because they had the highest levels). This time, I decided to update it a bit by giving his team the levels from Yellow and the attacks from BW2. With the exception of Persian since for some reason they got rid of it in Gen 5. Since I didn't want to get rid of his most memorable team member, I decided to give it the moveset it used in the anime. And voila, Giovanni now has a team that stands a chance against his son. It still won't be easy though, Silver's Alakazam and Feraligatr are still very deadly for Giovanni's team. Can the crime boss overcome his son or is it time for him to retire for good? Let's find out!

Yeah, even though I had to bend my own rules a little to give Giovanni this team, I think he deserves it. It's still a shame that his strongest team (in terms of levels) was back in Pokemon Yellow and he never got stronger pokemon since then...

Idk how you train the Pokémon, but Persian was lucky with the Sped IVs, otherwise It won't be faster than Alakazam or Gengar :'D. Great Video btw.! c;

Thanks! And I was a little surprised by that myself. The pokemon I use are perfectly EV-trained and their IV's are usually slightly above average. And since Persian is pretty fast already, that seemed to have been enough to outspeed Silver's pokemon.

a combination of old and new. i like it. hmm maybe that would inaccurate but more interesting. also if you are playing on emulator, did you hack the golem and the unobtainable pokemon through normal means in previous battles? good battle untill persian with shadow claw and rhyperior but still updated and fun to watch

As I said in the description (which you should read before pointing fingers btw), I said that I didn't use Persian's moveset from Pokemon Yellow since it's outdated. That's why I instead gave it the moves it used in the anime. And I know for a fact that Giovanni's Persian used moves like Shadow Claw and Power Gem there.

Giovann's Persian is confirmed to have Shadow Claw. Giovanni used it while battling Ash in the anime.

Silver blew it when he tried to use Focus Blast against Persian and missed. Alakazam almost surely boots both Nido's and Rhyperior most likely falls against Feraligatr.

good battle Giovanni had the superior team that were more bulky and not as squishy as silver's not saying his team is bad by any means he put up a good fight and color me surprised but sneasel did some work in the beginning which doesn't happen often
