Pretty much this. I'm seeing cheap PSA 10s going as low as $15-$20 on ebay. Imagine losing money when you get a 10.

I agree 100%. From a business standpoint it’s gotta be a challenging position to be in. You need volume and being only known for BLK Labels isn’t going to help drive big submission numbers!!

Great call out! Yes PSA did recently acquire SGC. SGC is still operating as an independent subsidiary but I'm sure they will merge in time. Kinda like how EBay purchased TCGPlayer but TCGPlayer is operating under its own umbrella still. Great call out and I need to start mentioning that in these videos!! thank you!!!

The problem is price, to do bulk at you need member then the price around £12 per card with a minimal 20 cards. They need to reduce bulk to minimal 10 cards, at a lower price.

Yeah pricing is something I think they are always trying to figure out. It's gotta be a balance between submission numbers and price. High price low submissions low price high submission.. finding that perfect balance must be tough!!

ball sports is on the rise because of 2 generational talents showing up currently. I'm not concerned (yet), but we've got Connor Bedard (hockey) and Victor Wemby in NBA. As those rookie cards continue to get released, I think those are going to stay hot for another year or 2

Dont send your vintage to PSA. They are gate keeping the higher grades. I sent some pack fresh Base Set, no print lines, no imperfections, great centering, and they still gave me a max grade of an 8...

I’ve had no issue getting a PSA 10 on my vintage. Vintage is more difficult with its holo and pack fresh English issues, but ultra modern is very easy with texture.

Ugh that's frustrating for sure I've had more then one occasion where I've been disappointed too. I dream of the day where we have AI or some sort of computer assisted grading to eliminate or at least provide answers during times like that!!

Hi, Ryan. I absolutely love all your Analytical and well thought out video. I turned to different KZbinrs and only nostalgia nomics made video about it. Would like your take on this. Japanese Booster Box vs English Booster Box Investing (No singles, No graded cards, Just Booster box, ETBs if Special set) What are advantages and disadvantages, their increase rate, i know jap is less liquid but with the rate of return, it's likely worth it. I'm starting to convert my English Holds to Japanese holds this past few week. I would like to know if I'm on the right direction. I would greatly appreciate if you do this. Thanks.

I’m not as dialed in on the Japanese side as I am on the English but I agree that would be a really fun video!! Now remember… I said I’m not as dialed in on the Japanese side so take this with a grain of salt but I’m not a big believer in sealed Japanese as a long term hold. Will they do well yes but will they outperform English… whew that’s tough for me to imagine. I try and avoid “flavors of the month” and right now Japanese cards/sets are coming down off that ride. Booster boxes from 2022 and 2021 seem to be holding value but after that (besides 151) it’s far more hit and miss. I’ll do some digging and see what I can come up with!! Awesome suggestion, I LOVE it!!

PSA needs to lower their prices and their club membership price. Paying over $125 a year plus $15 a card with a min of like 15 cards gets pricey.

BGS is genuinely famous for having the worst customer service known to man. They have such a bad reputation. People went to them for cards other companies wouldn't grade - and now they've lost that too. Rough times.

Yeah it's been a sad slow death for BGS. Believe it or not when I first started collecting BGS 9.5s sold at a premium compared to PSA 10s... my how things have changed!!

Modern collections are worthless unless you have a 10, that has no distinguishable features beyond a 9 to the human glance. Novice collectors have absolutely no concept of how bad the Graded Slab market is going to crash. You have to have something actually rare and meaningful... The 10s of most cards are not rare at all, because too many of them were pack fresh submissions. The 10/9s all look identical, because they all came directly from packs. Submitting modern cards yourself is a big money sink scam... Now eBay and PSA are monopolizing the market, so prepare for more lenient 10s to boost eBay revenue. It's all a social media scam and most Slab collections are impossible and time consuming to sell. There's no telling where the true bottom is to this market. What will survive is few and far in-between.

Yeah the gem rate being so low is something I’m pretty excited about. As an investor/collector I’m a fan of rarity and exclusivity so 10K+ Gem Mints of all the chase cards doesn’t do it for me LOL
