I can't help but feel a bit melancholy listening to this. Not just because Ash is the champion now, but because some of the lyrics remind me of someone. (Personal rant incoming) I used to see him as a rival and friend. We battled a lot on Pokemon Showdown, and while he wasn't always the nicest person, I figured we could still become friends. He was like the Gary to my Ash, or maybe even the Blue to my Red. Someone I aspired to surpass, but didn't hold any hard feelings towards. But then he did some things that make me realize that we couldn't be friends. Things that others called stalking, even though it was my own naivety that let him find anything. I tried to give him another chance, but each time ended the same way. The last time we spoke, he asked me to defend him when he got in trouble for encouraging a rather offensive joke that wasn't even that funny. I told him he needs to deal with the consequences of his actions and left it at that. That was over six months ago now. I'm definitely much healthier mentally than I ever was with him, but sometimes I wonder, what would happen if we spoke again? Would it still end the same way? Or could we go back to the way it started, with us battling and making fun banter while aiming to get stronger? Realistically, I know there's no way back. At the same time, I miss having a rival. I guess this is what happens when you try to apply cheesy shonen tropes to real life.

I'm so proud of you my idol!!! You did it with passion and that bond with your most beloved pokemon that wins it all.. All that journey is very worth it. I cry so hard after you win and when pikachu nearly gave up but the pokemons are there to support makes me so emotional this whole episode is a masterpiece.. And Ash Finally made it!!! The best of the best.. 🏆🏆so happy and cried since my childhood i always support you ash and now you're dream is coming true i am so very happy 😭😭 this is tears of joy...
