Things you misunderstood: -The Metagross has a flashback/look in a different dimension -They’re based on Pokédex entries no competitive Pokémon -Tyranitar apparently can’t get hurt by any attack?

He flashes back to the previous battle royale where he got rekt trying to stop camerupt. So he explodes on mega camerupt.

The fights are based on their Pokedex-Entries and lore. That's why some would have a better chance against others even though they probably wouldn't on first thought and when you look at their stats. I suggest you to check out the explanation video. Maybe you could do a reaction to it.😋 And I'm very glad Rayquaza wins because it is my favorite Pokémon.😁 Technically Mewtu and Rayquaza are the strongest.

You didn't mention it, but that Raquaza did have Life Orb, according to the text that showed when it won.

Mega Mewtwo and Rayquaza are tied for having the highest base totals for a playable Pokemon, however Rayquaza doesn't need a Mega Stone to evolve (as it gained that ability by eating a meteorite), so if you look closely at the "Mega Rayquaza Wins!" screen, one of the items shown to be in play is a Life Orb. Its victory was essentially a foregone conclusion, the real trick was keeping it out of the battle for as long as possible.
