The fights are based on their Pokedex-Entries and lore. That's why some would have a better chance against others even though they probably wouldn't on first thought and when you look at their stats. I suggest you to check out the explanation video. Maybe you could do a reaction to it.😋 And I'm very glad Rayquaza wins because it is my favorite Pokémon.😁 Technically Mewtu and Rayquaza are the strongest.

Mega Mewtwo and Rayquaza are tied for having the highest base totals for a playable Pokemon, however Rayquaza doesn't need a Mega Stone to evolve (as it gained that ability by eating a meteorite), so if you look closely at the "Mega Rayquaza Wins!" screen, one of the items shown to be in play is a Life Orb. Its victory was essentially a foregone conclusion, the real trick was keeping it out of the battle for as long as possible.

This is based on POKEDEX ENTRIES. That's why it may not have seemed accurate. Tyranitar didnt take damage because its mega entry said its armour was impervious to everything, and the first metagross death was it seeing into another reality (the one in the normal battle royale)

To explain how Tryanitar was doing so well against Mewtwo; Terminalmontage and Lockstin take all forms of official Pokémon material into consideration. This includes the Pokédex entries (which they take LITERALLY). Tyranitar’s entries state that it’s body is physically invincible, so no attacks are actually capable of injuring them in these videos. And because of their Dark typing, psychic attacks are useless on their mind. Tyranitar only loses these fights because Ring-outs are a thing.
