The DS had a really good audio circuits. I pulled in my earphones and just chill with the music. The DS also had the circuits for GB games. That's why in HG/SS you can use the item to put 8-bit music.

Apparently DS (the first one) couldn't handle the game and crashed because of the music. You had to use a DS Lite at least to be able to run the game without it crashing

With BW, even though you know it's over, there's this sense of unfulfillment because you "saved the world", but did not really save everyone in it. You actually lost a close friend (???), and there was nothing you could do about it, so it did end in a sort-of tragedy. With BW2, it all comes to an end; the friend (???) is back, and the real enemy is finally defeated.

IN MY OWN OPINION… gen 5 hands down is the best generation of pokemon. It is some of their best work. Between the soundtrack, atmosphere, battling style, Pokemon sprites, new Pokemon, story, elite 4, and on and on…. Hands DOWN, best games. Criminally underrated because of the hate it got when it came out.

Gen 4 was the most immaculately crafted experience in a Pokemon game to this day. Every single of piece perfectly encompassed the mood / atmosphere at whatever was at hand. Now jump on over to Gen 5 where the music for the BOX ART LEGENDARY is so embarrassingly shit that Mammalizer used the RAVING CRACKHEAD gif because THAT'S what perfectly encompasses what that shit song sounds like. They had their heads up their asses when they made the Gen 5 soundtrack.

People REALLY sleep on Kalos’ ost. Personally, I like it more than Unova’s but that’s my bias as that was my second Pokémon game. But I started with the late Sinnoh Card Game, then Unova anime, the first game I played was my friend’s copy of Black 2, & my first game was Alpha Sapphire. & Sun & Moon were my first hype cycle minus Z. Which sadly never came to be until next year, LOL!

Man gen 4 really was peak pokemon. And while every game since Diamond and Pearl has been so hit or miss, I dearly believe the only thing each game has nailed every time is the music. Whether the games are good or bad, the music has always been immaculate.
