Funny story about shinies, I was hunting for Feebas in Diamond and found a shiny Whiscash. Just a few months later, I was looking for Feebas in Black and got a shiny Basculin. I joked with my friends that it was easier for me to find a shiny Pokemon than it was to find a Feebas.

For me I was shiny hunting in pokemon Y for an Absol and first encounter was a shiny Inkay. And going with what scykoh asked, I have found around 7-8 all on accident. Had 2 in safari zones and caught them. I say 7-8 because my 8th one was the one to get away since I didn't have pokeballs

Even excluding the Gyarados at Lake of Rage, I caught quite a few shinies in the original Silver without specifically hunting for them. Several highlights were a shiny Pinsir caught during the Bug Catching Contest (WHICH DIDN'T EVEN WIN), a shiny Pidgey I got as the second catchable Pokemon encountered in the playthrough, and a shiny Delibird I ended up chucking my spare Master Ball at because I was sick and tired of them running away. In the fifteen years since I have played through every generation multiple times and only seen ONE shiny as a random encounter.

Since you asked in chat I have found 4 shinies without shiny hunting: - An aron in Pokemon Ruby. - A raticate in Pokemon diamond I think it was. - A geodude in Pokemon Fire Red... which used selfdestruct so I wasn't able to catch it >-> - And a Tentacruel in Pokemon platinum, funny enough also during a nuzlocke (not randomize though). I haven't been able to find one since gen 4 unfortunately.

Interesting. When I was using the pokeradar on 215 in the original, it took 5 minutes to find one... which used roar. 25 minutes later... roar again. It took 10 more minutes THE NEXT DAY to finally catch it. Meanwhile, you find 30.

Just a while ago i started grinding out pokemon for my team for my nuzlocke, and god you're so right, it takes forever to level them all up to the same level. As for the shiny question, i've found around 2 which would be a shiny spinarak & combee and 3 in randomizer attempts being Ho-oh, Rapidash & Charizard~ so 5 shiny pokemon in total and i've been playing for more then 15 years lol

@2:14 Not specifically hunting for a shiny, I have found 8 random shinies. I guess I have been pretty lucky in my times. 7 those are from generation 5 and earlier also. Gen 6 and later, since the odds changed, I have found 2 random shinies both being in oras with one of them being a shiny Virizion. I never thought I would be one to run into a random shiny legendary not trying to hunt it.

I've found 2 shinies accidentally. I've never gone shiny hunting (yet), so I'm astounded at my luck. My very first was in White 2, in Pinwheel Forest, 8/2/2016. I was screwing around trying to see if Konami Code worked (I knew it didn't, but this was post-main game and I was bored that day) when I entered the grass accidentally. I was using a repel, so I figured I'd just run around for fun. My repel wore off and the first step I took initiated an encounter. It was a Swadloon that I thought looked funny. Then the sparkles animation played. I was so excited!!! I named her Sparkles and I have no intentions of evolving her. (I should mention that a month later, after getting this shiny, I restarted my Diamond game and my Kadabra got Pokerus! What a lucky time!!!) My second accidental shiny was in my Black version., 1/16/2017 I was EV training some Pokemon (I think it was Scyther, Larvesta, and a few others?) when I was on Route 11, just outside of Opelucid City, on the patch of grass mirroring the vehicle/trailer thing. I encountered a Vullaby that I, once again, thought looked different. Sparkles. It was a shiny!! I named her Celeste and she's now a level 57 Mandibuzz :)

I know it's late BUT I have a shiny Aggron (female with like +def and sturdy) so ya pretty good, AND I was playing on DS for sapphire but I didn't know my DS was low. It was in that cave where you find Steven. I wanted a Aron because they were SO cute. Then I encountered one and oh mer gawd mom thought I was dying because I fangirled SO hard. Them I freaked out when I saw the battery was flashing. Since it was on a DS, even if I closed the cover, the battery was going down. I scrambled for a charger and then I managed to find it. I still have it and she's Lvl 100 and can mega evolve (I think it was fate that she could lol) though the name is weird. NOW I WAS 7 AT THE TIME SO SHUSH. I named her Sparkles. Though on my Y team (that's where she is) my friend has to use LEGENDS just to take a few of my Pokemon down. (Aurous, M Y Charizard, Aggron, Absol, Leafeon, and I THINK Lucario)

I didn't start finding shinies til 4th gen and wooo boy! I found shiny Wurmples and 2 Gravelers in a row in Mt Corenet.. and they both used Self destruct.. I remember my brother yelling at me that. night.. I've been fairly lucky at finding shinies (but not catching them). In fact in my runs I always get a shiny Zubat, always named Fabu-bat. It's head-canon that each is the prior's kid. And my shiny Swadloon, Swagloon!

I've found seven shinies by playing through the games without hunting :0 Buisel in Diamond (had one premier ball that didnt catch it. I didnt even know what a shiny was at that time) Zubat in diamond (Caught it, and although I didnt know it was shiny, I knew it was special. It disappeared though) Azelf in Diamond (didnt know it was shiny because I thought it was the normal colour. It destroyed me) Croagunk in X (It has black sludge, it was awesome qvq) Roselia in X (Hoarde encounter while egg hatching? Not counting the Red Gyarados and without shiny hunting I found 4 in total. One was an exeggcute in the safari zone in FireRed. I encounter 2 other shinies in FireRed but don't recall what they were. And when hatching poliwag eggs for egg moves I hatched a shiny out of the first egg. I flipped because it was my first hatched shiny.

What shinies did I find when I wasn’t specifically hunting? Well, I’d say four. But two of those are from the Ultra Wormholes (I needed to grind, ok?) so I won’t count them. So that means my Xatu and Magmar (originally Natu and Magby) both in my Ultra Moon nuzlocke are the only shinies I have that wasn’t hunted for.

My first shiny I ever saw was ponya in Gold long ago. I didn't know any better and KOed it. I took a break and came back to Pokemon for gen 6. I started filling out the pokedex for the shiny charm a few weeks ago to help breed with the maduda method(long sad story involving a friend losing all his data and all his Pokemon he cared about). While filling in the gaps I met and caught 3 shinies in 2 days. No joke. Shiny cubchoo fearow, and sudowoodo. I have a fairly average to high amount of play time (thx to battling friends) and no shinies till now.

I Think I've Found Five Shinies Without Hunting For Them, But The Only One That Sticks In My Mind Was The First Shiny I Ever Found, A Shiny Torkoal In Emerald When I Was Little, I Caught It, But I Didn't Actually Know What Shinies Were At The Time, So When I Got Stuck In Lilycove City And Proceeded To Buy A Guide, I Ended Up Starting A New Game Because I Had Problems Following The Guide From The Point I Was At. So I have the Shiny Charm in Pokémon Ultra Moon, but shinies are still rare. I have found 3 shinies in two days. The first was a shiny Beldum when I was breeding. The second was Makuhita when I was trying to find drowzees to EV train. The third was when I was trying to find Chansey for a Lucky Egg in the Poni Plains. I have found 5 total Shinies in Ultra Moon, and a total of 8 shinies in my life.

My first shiny was a Roselia (now a Roserade) in Platinum just 1 week and 1 day into the game. It was also _my first main series game as well._ Then I got a Heatmor when I was about to leave Twist Mountain (literally the square right in front of the exit). Third one was my second attempt at getting a Munchlax in Y, after giving Snorlax the wrong incense. Then I found 5 on different Friend Safaris (I sort of hunted for two of them, though). And finally a Magikarp while using the Old Rod on Alpha Sapphire.

I found 2 legit shinies in my life. One was a shiny grimer in pokemon sapphire. I trained it all the way up to level 50-something. I lost my sapphire version and I was so heartbroken. And the other was a shiny furret in pokemon crystal. That one was so far back I don't fully remember what happened to it.

I had some pretty great luck getting shinies back in Silver version, even aside from the guaranteed Red Gyarados every playthrough. The earliest one I remember was a shiny level 13 Pinsir I caught during the Bug Catching Contest (and didn't fucking win, go figure). Then there was a shiny Delibird which either ran away or I accidentally killed, immediately followed by a shiny Golbat. My all time favorite one was a shiny Pidgey that was the second wild Pokemon I encountered after getting Poke Balls from the assistant at the beginning of the playthrough. I then didn't see a shiny until I randomly bumped into a shiny Slugma while in Burnt Path or whatever it's called in Sapphire version... whoopee...

I've found two shinies (that were random anyway, cuz I hunt). Both were on a emulator of a hacked Firered called touhoumon. Idk why both that game specifically but at least the shinies were entirely new I guess

When ever I hear the name Wobbufett the only thing I can hear is "Wobba Wobba"
